13:20 overall, this is a great video; but at this variation, a possible continuation for black is Knight A4, which has the threat of B2 which forks Queen and Bishop. White either retreats dark square bishop to cover B2 (which will weaken E file) or they play a passive Queen move to dodge the fork (since the leftside board is blocked off and the right-side board is well defended by black) The pawn fork for white only exists if you don't take advantage of the Knight to create pressure.
i went to play a 3 minute chess tournament on lichess, the theme was caro kann, i got clobbered. okay i will sit quietly in this corner and learn as i weep :)
Alex covered almost every move in the JL across all different elos…to the point that makes me wonder what more will we learn from his course which i’m buying anyways
It’s a fair point, but course will actually be a game changer. RU-vid videos are great to get you going, but the course will focus on improving your overall understanding of chess
I reached 900 on Lichess only with Jobava watching your videos but i almost lost 70% matches playing kings indian defence its really hard to remember the variations of kings indian what do i do to improve chess with black pieces
After awhile of basically playing just the Jobava London and Caro Kahn, I find my opponents very often play weird lines. Im gaining rating still, the ideas seem to be helpful at the middle game were Im blundering much less because of the directions
Hi Alex, I love your videos, they are helping me a lot. Have you thought about making a video on how to counter the Horwitz defense? It always gets me. Thank you!
Hello, I've been watching your caro kann videos for some time and I've learned a lot from them, helped me break 2000 rating online. Im also playing in local chess club and I enjoy tartakower variation a lot, however I often play a player which forces early queen trade (1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3.Nd2 dxe4 4. Nxe4 Nf6 5. Nxf6 exf6 6. Bc4 Bd6 7. Qe2). Do you have any suggestion how to avoid or improve this line? I was thinking of playing gxf6 or Be7 to waste a tempo but keep queens on the board
Alex, I love you and your videos, but all I learned is that I can't possibly play the King's Indian with my current level of strategical understanding 😅 There's just no way I'd be able to keep control over the position with everything that you have to keep in mind here and the types of manoeuvres you have to be aware of. Maybe give me 5 or 10 years
I think Stockfish moved the bishop so it didn't have to advance other pieces until the time was right. Because doing so let stockfish force some pawn moves later with tempo.
My Karo can't 😢..at 45% I need middle game help. 🎉White alright at 55% ❤ and middle game is always just mopping up the blood..of course im playing Jebava London! I will soon be Back in Black with the Black pieces, thanks Alex.
Alex, you are the only chess teacher I need. You are by far the best, mixing opening theory, narrated games, quick humor and no wasting of time. There's no better formula. As always, thanks so much and congrats on 100k subscribers!!
