Been a fan of mushroomhead for about 20 years. A word of caution, though. The sort of “belchy” way Krang sometimes talked in TMNT was probably achieved by talking while inhaling, which I’ve read can be very bad for vocal health long term. (Referred to as “inhales” in harsh vocal terminology.)
I would be bawling if I had just lost someone, but I managed to hold back tears. The song touches the heart deeply and her voice carries it into the soul. Nice.
Harriet is a very sweet, humble, extremely talented singer/songwriter in London. This is one of her originals and she also does TikTok covers of Carpenters songs and other 70's music. Nice reaction.
I consider this their very best song , stirs the heart and places you directly in the time period , with your mind drifting into central park on a warm summer day in the late 60's
Thanks for this one. I think so many people can relate and her voice is so beautiful. She wrote a song everyone needs to hear. (I just sent you the acapella of her vocal in an email)
So many of my old friends are in this video. I remember when this was shot at a club called "The Flood Zone". I will never forget it. Long live the mighty GWAR!!!
Dude, thanks for this reaction! I first heard this song in the early 90 while listening to their music on a walkman in a school bus! Blind Guardian are legend! They created the genre of "Power Metal" in the 90s! Most of their early works are heavily influenced by JRR Tolkien, just like "The Bards Song". They are nothing but Legend!
Great review! Sinatra is making, a legend. Do you like the Sinatra Duet with Ella Fitzgerald “The lady is a tramp”? I love that. Did you ever listen to the progressive band YES? I’d be very interested to hear what you think about some popular YES songs. The singer Jon Anderson has a very distinctive voice. Please do some reviews if you can or want to. Thanks!
Of the various recordings of this song by Sinatra - studio and live concert performances - this one from 1978 is the most atypical. It's quite noticeable how much he plays around with the lyrics, the melody and the timing from those other performances. Not sure why he did it.
If you like this, you will absolutely LOVE their cover of "Warriors of the world united", featuring other great singers Alea (Saltatio Mortis), Thomas Winkler aka Angus McSix (Ex-Gloryhammer) and Melissa Bonny (Ad Infinitum, Dark side of the moon).
Tommy is phenomenal! His vocals, his ability to play multiple instruments, his ability to arrange and produce music is absolutely beyond! For a young guy of 36, his musical talent is awesome! Tommy sings everything from classical to heavy metal and never falters…everything he puts his hand to turns out amazing! ❤ This whole production was all Tommy solo start to finish…the vocals, the music, everything!
Tommy is phenomenal! His vocal ability, his musical ability, his ability to play multiple instruments, his ability to arrange and produce music is phenomenal. ❤️
Nat this is so timely. Your fellow countryman Fil Henley, Wings Of Pegasus just dropped an episode about Paul McCartney being auto-tuned by Adidas for a commercial. The song was Hey Jude. Grrr. If those bastards ever tried that on Frank he will rise from the grave and destroy them. I got the chills you got watching this performance. He was awesome. I grew up with him on the TV, even live on the Muscular Dystrophy Telethon with Jerry Lewis. Such greatness. Thank you. Joe
Excellent voice overs, it’s a shame Disney, (and other studios), for the most part abandoned voice actors in favor of casting celebrities for a bigger box-office draw 😒
That reminds me, maybe you should do a reaction to “Stars” it was the Metal Worlds’ Africa charity song, like “We Are The World”. Lots of great musicians & vocalists! There’s also a companion “making of” video that’s pretty cool 👍🏻
