Other factors beside immigration at play here. child neglect, .family breakage..solo parenting..useless education. Lead to low self asteem ,confidenceand expectations.

I was born in Auckland.& I can honestly say from 1965 to 1980s the amount of homeless people was minimal. However with more people migrating to NZ. Kiwi's were left out in the cold. Foreigners were buying land. Houses. ETC. It's now 2018 with the influx of foreigners to our shores it has seen a rise in homelessness. It's a issue the government has to put more emphasis towards if they are to combat the problem of Homelessness.
We can't blame the FOREIGNERS, we need to take a good look at our Maori politicians to see what the hell they are doing about our homeless whanau! So far, none of our Maori politicians are addressing the issue! SUGGESTION: All homeless whanau should go to the nearest Marae and park themselves there! Kia ora ...
They get offered jobs but will rather be on the streets! Free money from begging all day free food and blankets from churches who go down every night handing out food to them! And they sell drugs on top of that for the local mob in the city! And five finger discount all over the city!
Some do cos they get addicted to drugs but not all of them. No matter what it's sad all around and just cos they do wrong don't mean we shouldn't help. Have compassion cos having an addiction that takes you to the streets is hard but to have people that judge like you makes it even harder

Most of them suffer from mental illness which hadn’t been seen too, and they don’t have the proper support systems in place. You have proactive go getters then you have the homeless. The homeless all would have faced a situation in life and let’s face it our whole country is about living in a cube. If you don’t fit in you end up being in the wrong side of the tracks that’s jail, street living, unemployment ect. Some homeless have come from abusive homes and went to the streets for an easy going community I imagine. They all seem to stick together without any judgment. I imagine that a lot of them are outcasts probably some pedophiles ect whose family have abandoned them. End of the no matter what situation you’re in there is always a way out. Nz homeless have it easy compared to the ones over in Africa who are actually skin and bone with no clothes! I don’t feel sorry for any homeless in nz after what iv seen overseas.
The whole world wide system's got to change, banks, corporations, billionaires, elites, globalitists, greedy people in high places, yep, establishments serve the people to meet their every need in medical , education, homes and food. You only need to raise good families and leave a legacy, that's what life is supposed to be about, but you are born into this world to become a slave to frikken debt. don't give money to the homeless, they get plenty help from charitable organisations, also some actually have a home but beg for coin cause spend money on drugs or booze. most are Thieves some are shunned from their families or communities because they are sex offenders, sitting on a mainstreet still sleeping or laying in the sleeping bag is not helping themselves , were is the 180 dollars gone that the government gives them every week ... if you give your hard earned money to most these homeless then your a dumb fool
charatible organisations intercept food destined for the pig farms to feed these people, thats what the city mission does and funding from donations are spent elsewhere, banks donate money every year to tackle this issue but the numbers have tripled the very people charged to take care of the homeless are just making money of them, the more visible to the public they are the more chances of donations, dont think there gona tackle this problem anytime soon, Before the world rugby cup started winz central goverment did everything they could to get them of fthe streets the next time they do that will be the next americas cup im guessing until then instead of giving them money as you stated how about something to eat maybe some shoes, when u have no home you clock up some miles walking nowhere, you must have a spare blanket in your home try giving them that, you drink and take drugs for fun they take it to block shit out, to block the cold out, to help them not give a dam about people like you who hate them but dont know them. i met a 17 year old on those streets who was paralized down his leftside cause his father threw him against the wall when he was nine he never forgot that it fuked his life up he still doesnt feel loved as an adult and he never smiled for as long as i knew him, there are those who live there for the adventure and shit but you can generally tell who they are,their the trouble makers but dont put those who had no choice in that catagory, when you have your dinner tonite just remember their eating pig food sleeping in the fucken rain and cold some cant sleep at nite cause their afraid of being attacked by arseholes who feel tougher then the world, so they stay up til daylight when people are around to go to sleep alot of these people are sick, mental health sufferers and thats the obvious ones i have seen men, woman you would not have thought lived on the streets living ruff, fuk i knew a guy who wore expensive clothes and suits watever his issue it just reinforced to me that it can happen to you too, i lived on the streets of Auckland city, if your to depressed and no ones there to talk to you to help you feel just a little better than yesterday then your stuck there for a long time i know, the churches focus has changed they are now i feel a entity focused on making a profit under the disguise of charity and i dont give a fuck what they say about that cause their fucken liars too, these are our people out there humans, not animals so buy them a flatwhite and smile when you give it to them ok!
