Does anyone know the exact date and/or locale of this interview with Bob Rogers (there are many listed with Bob Rogers, elsewhere, but with various dates, etc)
I wonder what happened to Malcolm bless him. Seems a thoughtful sensitive kid. Imagine him or his family finding this interview at the time or even in retrospect!!🙏❤️.x
0:11 i love when they act silly like this in recordings, it really shows that they were literally just friends in a group having fun. obviously it didn’t last long though 😕
I would say Paul was both singer and backing singer, and occasionally a duet with John, and George would duet with Paul, and Ringo would duet with the drums.
ZEPPELIN, STONES, WHO, FLOYD.. we all seen their press interviews but NONE had SPONTANEOUS WIT and gift of SELF-DEPRECATING HUMOR The Beatles possessed. Their ability to laugh AT themselves unlike most bands of that (any) era ..to not take "spectacle" of themselves seriously set them apart; they "Got The Joke".
Still astonished the way he still keep kicking those hithats on the beat while rocking away. Remember he's a left handed drummer and playing it on a right handed drum and to make a point, it could shuffle your coordination. He's great because he still has kept his coordination.
0:23 You can see why George became resentful towards the end of The Beatles, when he was blowing cigarette smoke into the mic (he probably shouldn't have been doing it) you can see Paul pushed him out of the way telling him to stop but That was only one instance, God knows how many other instances where Paul was correcting George on certain things to be more socially aware of things I guess. That gets tiring after a while I can relate. I've ended several friendships over people who tried to correct my little quirks because I lacked "Social Awareness" but in George's case, i think Paul always looked at (and treated) George as a younger kid right up until George's passing in 2001
When John makes that crack about becoming managers George really gets a kick out of it and he's just busting smile and laughing it's just fantastic-love George.
Today I think that Paul was the real glue between them, very friend of all but a demanding guy at work. Despite of all my musical preference is John. He will last better musically and as songwriter.
I don't get why people here is so surprised by the "John is the leader" comment. Paul never try to claimed the leadership of John in any way, he always accepted John was the leader
