Mechanics were largely ramped up in Heavansward. Both the fights and the jobs were difficult. Stormblood kept the job difficulty relatively high but reduced the difficulty of the content. However, many of the mechanics that are now normal were developed in stormblood. Stormblood was pretty much considered the best expansion when it comes to just pure content. Then over the years. They've been slowly simplifying the jobs. To the point it now has the same issue WoW has with them. There is also a very large discrepancy in difficult. FF14 heavily lacks a bridge between easy and hard content. They attempted to add it with Criterion but due to a lack of rewards. Criterion Savage is just also borderline unfun. It's fine the first clear. Terrible to grind. No one does it. Easy content is a braindead chore and difficult content has become very close to just being unfun and even requiring addons for many to get reliable clears. Which is what this video is about.
I always love seeing how folks customize their UI. Like, what they latch on to from default, and what they bring from other games or what just feels naturally comfortable. The channel bar near your cast bar front and center is super unique, along the health bar for the boss staying near the top. Also grats on the kill!!
Why I imagine they like doing "Door" or "wall" bosses. Imagine turning the fight into a side profile view of everyone's characters on one side, and the boss on the other. Doesn't it kinda remind you of the OG FF turn-based games? I had this random thought a few days ago lol. They especially like doing this for the classic bosses that come to XIV.
And calculate that you're doing it to the MAX gear with people who know how to do it... you should try it as soon as it comes out to see the real experience... anyway yes it's certainly not wow raids lol
You can now request repairs from omni-crafters via the right-click menu for a character. I always carry Grade 8 Dark Matter (soon Grade 9) on me so I can repair anywhere.
Instead of relying on random people, I just level up my doh/dol classes so they can be at the minimum level required for repairing my gear beyond 100% Yes, you need to level up miner & botanist because crafting mats can get expensive, especially around level 60 when stuff isnt always available.
Could be worse.. someone in our savage had all their gear break at the same time without noticing.. he went from 70k to like 3k HP and insta died to the first raidwide :P
I fell in love with the jazzy city theme the moment I heard it. They could have gone two ways with the music in Tuliyolol: hyper South American Inca-style music, or something that feels like a vacation theme. Dazar'Alor in WoW had the Inca-style music, and I did enjoy it, but this to me feels better for FFXIV. When Soken wants to stay on a cultural theme, he can do it. Radz-at-Han fully captures that Indian feel; here, Soken clearly wanted to make us feel more like we're on vacay--upbeat, jazzy, something you can listen to while you sip on a tropical drink.
If hypothetically I had a question for Yoshi P and the Dawntrail devs and hypothetically that question had the real chance to be asked to said devs and Yoshi P, the question I would have is: Are we able to ride Lalafells yet?
