No sports car for this midlife crisis... just a Volkswagen California Ocean. I will be uploading videos of whatever I manage to capture whilst on my travels around the UK and if it's of any interest to any of you then thank you for taking the time to watch.
Hi.... thanks for watching. The camera backpack is a PGYTECH OneMo 2 (35L) and yes, I would definitely recommend. It's huge and loads of space for camera, lenses, drone, mics, filters and much much more. If anything, maybe a little too big for day-to-day walks.... great for packing all your kit to take on holiday/weekend away... but I could do with something a little less bulky for the day trips.
It is a weirdly unassuming 'little' waterfall and very pretty to look at but... an entire river being forced through a 2 meter gap into a 10 meter hole is going to take out even the strongest of swimmers! Approach with caution and try not to fall over like I did! 😂
Just watched all the videos over the last few days, very pleasant journeys even in the poor weather it's nice to have time to just chill out in what looks to be a lovely van, keep the videos coming and have a pleasant rest of the weekend
Hi there. Just found your channel. Catching up on your videos, we have visited some of the sites you have been to and have many of the others on the to do list! Thanks for sharing 👍😀
@campervanhygge thank you for watching and thank you for your videos... for the sites which we've both visited, you can guarantee I watched one of your videos first to 'scope out' the place before booking 🙂
Hi, after visiting the campsites website, it doesn't state the procedure upon entering the site, we are looking at a grassed pitch non electric in our campervan and there's availability when we want to come. I noticed that you stopped on 0:45 but didn't see a barrier or anything like that. Whats the usual protocol after making an online booking and when entering the site as I wouldn't want to cause a traffic jam as its only a narrow passing as you enter the site. Tried to telephone the site for a few days but no answer (must be busy) Thank you.
I similarly didn’t have a clue what to do on arrival so stopped and checked in at shop/reception to find out what pitch I was on… I’d booked a lakeside pitch but was unsure whether they allocated them or you just picked your favourite….. as it turns out they did allocate them out and told me a specific pitch…. But it was quiet when I went…. I agree that entrance could quickly get jammed up at busier times. Don’t let that put you off though… it’s definitely worth a visit 😊
It's about a 3 mile walk into Keswick via Castlerigg Stones... bit further if you go the railway trail but all very easy walking and obviously stunning scenery along the way 😊
Do you ever park up wild? We do it all the time in the Lakes. That way we get to share the money saved on site fees around local businesses. Just subscribed to you.
@CampervanTales I’ve not done it yet but I have spotted a couple of places I’d like to give it a try… have you ever been ‘moved on’ in the middle of the night and asked to leave?
@@califolkswagen we haven't used a campsite in the last 7 years and haven't been moved on once. We have travelled all over the country. We were told that Northumberland were really anti van and that we wouldn't find anywhere to park up, but in our latest series travelling the NLand 250 we show the opposite. Thanks for replying.
I do very much try to avoid Bank holidays. I'd have to say the campers and their children (I was there on a July weekend last year) were a whole lot better behaved than the campsites I stay at on the Yorkshire coast. There's nothing quite like being surrounded by pissed up extended families with their kids and dogs running riot to make you appreciated the difference of a well run family site like Meadow falls. I've heard the Orcaber site up the road near Austwick is a lovely quite site. I really liked Meadow falls and thought it was a lovely charming site (I guess it was a little quieter when I was there) and have never seen such immaculate grass! It was like camping on a golf green, lol. Anyway, thanks for uploading.. Liked and subbed!
I completely agree that the site is lovely and immaculately kept.... a little bit unfair on my part to be so negative in the video because as you say, there's a lot worse out there and booking on a school bank holiday weekend was a rookie error on my part. Will I learn? Probably not :-) I was at Orcaber in January... a lovely site and again, immaculately kept. I'm looking forward to going back when the weather is a bit better. I was there for one of the many storms we've had recently which kept it interesting! :-) Thank you for the like and the subscribe.
Hi, that brings back memories of when we were there last month ( have a look at our video) it just rained and rained and rained !!! Looked a lovely place, nice to see it lit up, would of been lovely without the rain i imagine 🙂 Great vlog, all the best Trev Debz and Tyler. Just subscribed as well 🙂
Thank you.... it is a lovely place and happy to say that I have been there on glorious summer days as well.... just never manage to capture those ones on video 😂 I'll take a look at your video and subscribe back now 😊
Love your video, looks very professional! Looking forwards to seeing more having a New Cali on order myself. Do you mind telling me the make of the gas/fire pit you have on your table, looks amazing?
Thank you for the kind words. The fire is a Solo Stove Mesa XL.... a mini smokeless wood burner which I was burning wood pellets in. The design of it means the airflow reignites the smoke giving off the 'flame jets'. tinyurl.com/msbe3czy
I did a little tent camp here In February for a snow capped Helvellyn and cannot recommend sykeside enough. Fantastic service and the food at the pub was wonderful! Great video here too mate :)
