One day, you'll come here. You'll visit a number of great places in the US. You'll come to Washington, DC (NOT in the summer!) Tour the White House, see the Capitol, go the Smithsonian, the National Archives with the Declaration of Independence.None, I feel, will be as moving as this.

Now you understand why Americans are crazy for everything pumpkin spice in the fall and winter. Find yourself a recipe for homemade pumpkin spice coffee creamer. And look for a recipe for pumpkin cheesecake. It's ridiculously easy to make and you don't even have to bake anything except for a cookie crumb Butter Crust.

Next time you're making pumpkin pie crack the eggs in the bowl, add the sugar and beat until smooth. Then add everything else and beat it until it's combined. That recipe seems way more complicated than it needs to be. None of this adding and then mixing adding and then mixing and certainly not adding the milk slowly. Just mix the stuff and bake your pie.

Yes, you did make a mistake adding the extra egg. It's supposed to be liquid but I don't think the extra egg will make a difference. It's a custard that doesn't get thick until you bake it.

A tip is to bake Your Pie on a cookie sheet so you don't have to clean your oven and pour the filling in the oven if you're worried about it spilling.

Skip the cornstarch. When you use cornstarch to thicken something you have to mix it with some liquid before you pour it into the hot liquid or it just won't work right. And cornstarch is never an ingredient in real Buffalo wings. The only reason people think it needs a thickener is because all of the garbage sauces that they buy in the grocery store have cornstarch in them. Grandma duff, from Duff's in Buffalo New york, would be spinning in her grave to see someone purposefully trying to replicate garbage off the shelf sauce when the real thing is so easy to do in the first place. Don't cook your wing sauce. It is just something thrown together and warmed up until everything is melted and combined. If you make it thick then it's going to not taste the same and you're not going to be able to coat your wings completely. If you want your sauce to end up being stickier and thicker than put your wings with the sauce on them back into the oven for a few minutes under the broiler. But you don't want to cook the sauce down in order to make it thicker.

Please, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS WASH YOUR HANDS THOROUGHLY after handling raw chicken. Don't touch anything else until you have properly washed your hands and all of the utensils used for the raw chicken have been removed to prevent cross-contamination and a really bad day.

Just make sure to thaw anything in glass before going in the oven to avoid it cracking. I love glass dishes

Pass on a lesson I learned with my Pyrex oven dishes: you CANNOT put the plastic lid cover on the hot dish when it comes out of the oven! You’re tempted to just cover it and leave to wherever you’re sharing the food with, but when you go to take the lid off, it will have melted some.☹️

I was in high school when 9/11 happened. My school was about half an hour away from a Big US Army base, so many of my classmates had parents in the military, or civilian contractors working on-base. Someone came around to all the classrooms telling the teachers to turn on the news Now. We saw the second plane hit live on tv, and we knew our world had just changed forever. My classmates were worried about their military parents who were now surely headed to war and might never return home. My English teacher had a close relative working at the Pentagon, and she spent the entire day clutching her useless cellphone (network was down) with eyes glued to the tv. Lunch period was nearly silent. Many of my classmates ended up enlisting after we graduated. I didn't know about the boatlift until many years later. It would've been nice to see such a thing on the news at the time to show a spark of Hope in all that horror. That was a day that no American my age will ever forget. It marked us all, no matter how far away from NYC we lived.

I'm from the US and grew up on pumpkin pie.... I look forward to it every Fall and Winter, it is one of my favorites... I prefer it after it's been refrigerated and of course with whipped cream! Glad you like it! Most of us in the US prefer to use Libby brand pumpkin unless you make one from scratch which is a lot of work...

If no one mentioned this. The "definitely not bluecoats" is to get around having the video taken down. copy rights... These are "for educational purposes" Drum and Bugle corps has been around since the 1940's in the US. Groups from Europe, Canada and other parts of the world have participated. But mainly it in in the US. I am guessing that others have suggested other videos to watch. I would add these to the list. This is to give you a feel for the transition to todays modern drum corps activity. Most of these are on you tube. 1983 Garfield Cadets, 1989 Santa Clara Vanguard, 1992 Cavaliers, 1999 Star of Indiana, 2004 Cavaliers 2008 Phantom Regiment. 2016 Bluecoats I am sure you were already given a few Blue Devils years and Caroline Crown. I will toss in the 1999 Madison Scouts as well. This will demonstrate the evolution of the drum corps activity over the years. Some major changes are around the horns they played (G bugles to Traditional horns) No amplification to modern electronics. The physicality of the corps has evolved. Back in the 80's there would be well over 50 corps at the regional competitions competing for a spot in the finals of that night. There were over 200 drum corps across the US. Now, with how expensive travel, food and everything else in todays activity, the number is under 70. But mainly the number national of touring corps is less than 50. Regardless, the top groups are mostly still around and the world championships (this is the finals performance from 2024) happen every August before school starts in the US. Good luck in your drum corps tour. Back in the early years, the drill (marching patterns) were much slower and as the years go on, get faster and even can have the appearance of 3D when viewed from a high vantage point. I marched in the Cavaliers back in the 80s, but have been watching this activity since the late 70's. It has truly changed over the years. Part of the changes in design are better tools for the designers, but most of it relates to the talent level of the members. It is something to appreciate if you like the performing arts. Music, Dance Precision and artistry. It can be truly amazing. Enjoy.

Hush Puppies are so good with cocktail sauce. That is why you need each other to work together and give each other direction, so things turn out right and you make things work. If Recky didn't pack them like Carol said they would have been softer in the middle. They learn from each other which is what a relationship is about. I don't see where Carol is bossy at all, she's just trying to help. Recky does a great job even though it's obvious he hasn't cooked much in the past. Looking forward to more cooking video's!

The story is basically correct except that the creators got which war it was mixed up. They make it out to be the Revolutionary War, talking about the colonies and all. It actually occurred in 1814, during what Americans call the War of 1812. This war came about as a result of England's war with France at. that time. Although England had surrendered in the Revolutionary War (1776-1781and the USA had been living under its Constitution without British interference for more twenty years, England needed seaman for the conflict so they began raiding American ships and taking off men to man British ships - men who had been born before American independence, saying they were British citizens and being conscripted. This lead to the War of 1812 which has been called the American Revolution 2.0. After that war ended, the US and the UK have not gone to war again. And the war actually resulted in the US building a better Navy and more of a sense of unity here.

Excellent. I personally still have tears every time I hear the Stars SPANGLED BANNER. CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER RETIRED. Vietnam AND IRAQ VET. DUSTOFF PILOT. THAT FLAG IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE TO DIE FOR. I FLY IT 24/7 up on a high pole lit up like a soccer field at night. Americans are people, anyone , everyone legally standing on our soil. Part of our history can also be summed up as in our Pledge of Allegiance which goes in part “ with liberty and justice for all “ here One is only limited by their own ambitions and desire to succeed. It has some shortcomings but I would not trade it for anything else going. I’m an old man now but if called upon to defend my flag you better believe I would be proud and standing tall. I’m pretty sure I speak for most Americans.

I have lived in Troy and Albany. LOL I currently live in Saratoga Springs area. I drove past the Saratoga Sweets store twice today. The Saratoga race track is one of the things that Saratoga is known for, along with amazing Mineral Springs and historical involvement in the American Revolution. George Washington was here. The motto is Horses Health and History. RPI is a prestigious Technical University in Troy New York. Mini world leaders have graduated from RPI. I grew up eating the original Charlie's Hot Dogs also in Troy New York.

5:21 I make hush puppies with corn meal and fry it up. That’s how the OG hush puppies were made. Back in the 1800s, the slaves would use hush puppies to help them escape their masters’ hunting dogs. It was common for slave owners to have trained slave hunting dogs in case anybody ever tried to run away. The hush puppies served as distractions as well as a way for the dogs to lose their scents, allowing them to run for freedom. “Hush” means “to silence” and puppies is pretty obvious. These things are rich with history, as well as most “Soul Food” like chitlins or collared greens. These foods, as well as hush puppies, were made from the scraps the masters would give their slaves. The slaves turned table scraps into its own beautiful thing, it’s worth looking up more soul food recipes!
