I must admit I am not well versed in the serving of the Monks. What is their assignments exactually? I thought the process was very interesting, but I am stumped as to why this particular process of removing the hair and eyebrows. Is it a worship cleansing? Also why such a short time to serve the monks? Beside disclosure of respect to his family. is there a spiritual calling???? Please do not take this in any negative fashion, I am just curious. I want to thank you for the filming of this ordination, I find it very interesting, I just like to continue to learn about other ways and cultures. Very much appreciate the sharing of this clip. Can this young monk choose to stay longer??

Thanks, Opal, for sharing this touching video on the ordination of monkhood for Jamie. I used to hear much about the monk's ordination but have not seen the ceremony before. As this is my first time, I was emotionally overwhelmed and nearly shed tears over it. Jamie's parents are proud of their beloved son's duty to Buddha. I wish him success and good health to him and his family.
Whoa this is so cool! We always see them and maybe get to talk to them while visiting a temple but getting a close look at how someone becomes a monk is quite eye-opening.
I made this video for the memory of Jamie. So, one day when he’s got older, he can come back and remember this memorable ceremony that he’s done for his family and himself❤

Did you not check out other videos on how to open a durian before attempting 😂. In Singapore the shops would have open a gap for you to ply open. Guess it’s different in Thailand
Hi Opal. Vegetarians or vegans can't eat Guay Chai...we don't eat stuff with more vegetables in it...we eat stuff with only vegetables in it😂. No seafood/meat/birds/pork/beef😢
Wonderful video (slurp😂) ...I am a fruit lover and a planning a trip to Bangkok, so this is very useful, especially the information that these fruits are usually available in the rainy season. I will be changing my plans now as I was initially planning it in the winter.😊 We have Lychee in my country and can share that you find it sour as you are picking the red ones. Go for the brown ones....they are as sweet as longans.😊 Also, the sandy texture you find in lamut....you should avoid eating the white portion next to the seed... that's where it comes from. I could not see the difference between Longkong and Longan. Could you please explain?. Great tips on selecting mangosteen. Would be great to know the particular shop you buy it from 😅
To make your money worth it, you must at least train 6 months before heading to Thailand for Muay Thai Training as the trainer didn't make much correction especially to your round kick ! We normally train muay thai in Thailand after the students are at intermediate level.
