Hi there For less details the fondant needs to be just under 2 mm thick For the finer details the thiner the fondant the better. I use the knife blade for the bigger details and a fine point for the small details. Knife blade I use the craft foam setting - stop it before the 2nd cut Fine point blade I use the washi sheet setting also don't alow another round of cutting. As long as your fondant has cmc/tylose and rolled the right thickness you can leave it for a min or 2 to firm up , I don't suggest putting it in the freezer as it will sweat when it comes out and stick to your blades I use a cricut maker, please let me know if you have any other questions. It's a bit tricky in the beginning but once you get the hang of it works like a charm, i don't cut any 2D toppers by hand any more.
Thank you so much I use the craft foam setting with the knife blade , remember to stop it before it makes its second cut. I use a pasta roller on the second biggest setting to get my fondant the right thickness. Smaller and fine details you want to make your fondant thiner , thinner the better and you can use the fine point blade on the washi tape setting There are many days that frustrated me but once you get your fondant thickness right there is so much you can do ** also don't forget to add cmc/ tylose to your fondant, it doesn't cut well without it ** Don't forget to clean your machine and blades 🌼 happy to answer any questions you may have I've been using it everyday now for 3 years
It takes me about 20 min to assemble it and would add about 2- 2.5 hours to that for baking cooling shaping, rolling/ cutting the pattern, and adding the smaller details on the shoe. This shoe is about 9 cm If you go bigger, it would be more of a full days work .😎💥
I find that the wire holds in place better if I melt the fondant to it. The wire I used doesn't have a paper lining on it , so edible glue doesn't stick 100% and my leaves start moving when assembling them. So by burning them in the melted sugar glues nice. Thank you for popping us a message!! Hope this helps.
@@TRCUSTOMSTUDIOPTY Thank you very much, that is a great help for me because I also have this problem when putting the wire that comes off the fondant. I appreciate it a lot 😁😃✨️💕
When rolling your fondant out, try not to lift it so it's "semi stuck" to your non-stick surface that will help the fondant itself to not move. Then, with your template, you can use a small bit of vegetable shorting at the back of it to stick it down a bit . Or If you cut your templates out of plastic, that will also semi stick to your fondant sometimes with a little shorting to help . **If you want to paint the surface, use as little shorting as possible as the paint doesn't always agree with the shorting. Hope this helps !!
