The magnolia exchange was spot on. I’ve been to two different locations, 4 times and each time customer service is meh. Even when you do know what to do, they act as if it’s some inconvenience to grab something. Chocolate cover strawberry pudding is the only thing worth the return and I hate when I crave it and know I gotta deal with them 😂
I agree with most of your rankings but I hated almost all of Kate's looks. It's almost like they were trying to make her look bad on purpose. 34:25 was definitely very beautiful but the dress at 40:26 was criminal 😭the hairstyle was also atrocious
i’m so happy to finally see someone mention that one francesca outfit with the weird sheer appliqué and collar, it took me out of the show SO BAD when i saw it cause it’s super 2010s
I agree with you on the very last Penelope look during the Featherington ball. It's just bad and the hair is so weird looking. I really couldn't care less about historical accuracy but this was a step too far for me
I'm starting to think I'm insane. I loved the costuming for this season. They were so romantic...the colors worked so well. They were bright and outlandish to reflect the Featherington side of the love story. It felt like as Penelope learned more about herself and accepted herself---more people of the ton started to dress like her in bright colors. The one that I absolutely cannot agree with you is the Engagement Party dress. I loved her hair and the hair clips so much. Colin told her that he loved seeing her hair cascade over her shoulders & girl never once forgot about it.
I'm sorry but I'm gonna have to disagree with you about the ombre fabrics. I also really love the sheer fabrics. I feel like they have free creativity I'm these kind of shows. Historically yes they wouldn't have had sheer sleeves but I love what they break some of the rules and reimagine fashion and create the most beautiful dresses. I also love Disney live action costumes except for Belle and live action Snow White. Live action Cinderella's dress was stunning. Disneys costumes are beautiful. It is so crazy how so much detail goes into the costumes, as well as Bridgerton. I thought the queens wig although not purposeful to the plot was super cool. That aside the costumes in this show are visually stunning. I also like the hair accessories. Lol There's nothing wrong with accessorizing. I like Penelopes hair as well. Cressida has one of the prettiest colors but is super overstated and overwhelmed by all of her hairstyles and dresses although I really liked her red dress.
Hyacinth in Episode 1 is wearing a dress that Daphne wore in Season 1, which is why it looks more classic Bridgerton. They removed some appliques and changed the sleeves, but it's the same dress. And Francesa's style is "Leighton Meester in Gossip Girl" IMO. It doesn't work. That tweed spencer jacket with the big flower is so awful.
I disagree with some of the pen rankings but thats cause I absolutely loved almost everything she wore but i also disagree with some the kate looks👀 i love your ranking tho i wish you including pens blue nightdress after the wedding and also her true final look where we meet the babies i actually loved the green on her😭🩷
I am going to order some of this collection. I have been holding off getting things from them as I don't wear makeup every day, but pastel fairy vibes are my favorite.
"When everyone is super, no one is." Was way overkill and distracting, couldn't appreciate the best looks because it was sensory overload! Season 2 struck the right balance of semi-accurate silhouettes and hairstyles with modern fabrics and colours ✌️
lady tilley has the worst costumes tbh. and then comes cressida with the giant poof sleeves as second awful…. I know this has been said before but Francesca’s actress really does look like an instagram model they should have kept ruby.
Nicola said (I think it was her, could have been someone else on the show) that the darker green dress wasn’t supposed to be her best look so your instincts are correct! that’s her attempt at a makeover but when she starts wearing the muted colors after that is when Pen has found her “look” - especially the mint/muted greens
This season felt so odd, like they didn’t trust in how beautiful Nicola was so they gussied her up with millennial makeup. Whereas Daphne and Kate got to be ‘fresh faced debs’. And when you see all the ton together it looks absolutely ridiculous and cartoonish.
Holy crumbs, how couldn’t like the “ under the willow’ dress. Absolutely gorgeous. The flow through blue to green and highlighting violet looks so amazing on Nicola.
@@avrawr1018 I'm sorry but it isn't - there were no corsets in the regency era (which Bridgerton is based on). At least not corsets as we commonly think of them. The undergarments of the time were called stays and the Regency stays did not go down further than the end of the ribs. They were super soft and flexible - think an extended sports bra - and mostly functioned as breast support (and to push boob up to accentuate/create some of that beautiful cleavage, that was popular for evening gowns). Even if you wanted to, it would be nearly impossible to tight-lace and 'snatch' the waist with regency stays. Sorry for the little novel/lecture. I just thought it would be nice to correct a bit of common misinformation.
@@avrawr1018sorry this is incorrect info. The Regency/Napoleonic/Federalist era isn’t what you just described. This era was emulating what they assumed to be “ancient Grecian vibes” and meant to be relaxed. Nothing is meant to be “snatched.” There was no snatched waists as dresses were empire waist. In addition, the stays they wore (not corsets) weren’t as structured as the 18th or later 19th century because again… they’re not snatched. We have literal evidence of this with multiple surviving garments and documents
LITERALLY! I keep telling people this bothers me because like, the only other character who wears dresses fitted at the natural waist is lady featherington. why would pen’s arc fashion wise be to emulate her mother
I loved Kate's makeup, just not her outfits. I just thought they didn't give high quality at all. The Queen's outfits also felt cheaper than the other seasons but her wigs were fine
I think Eloise really needs to lose the bangs soon. If not next season, which will most likely be Benedict's, then in her own. They don't suit her and I feel like they're meant to make her loook more childish. They're the first thing that should go in the glow -up, seriously. I'm a bit sad you missed some of the Kate looks! And I would have liked more Francesca too.
The women’s clothing was all over the damn place this season. Penelope was straight 40s from the waist up after her glow up (including that goofy little sheer neck scarf, that’s very 40s/50s); Francesca’s looks careened from 2000s to Edwardian. The Queen’s wigs are just what Marie Antoinette used to wear, kind of: her little scenes tended to be perched on top rather than in the hollowed out middle of the wig. It’s distracting; and worse, a lot of the gowns looked cheap. Penelope just looked like she was at prom sometimes. What makes it stranger is they don’t do this ish with the men’s clothing! The men just wear period clothes and look hot. So when they muck about so much with what the women wear and call it part of the storytelling, it makes me mad.
I actually think Cressida’s looks are matching the bridgerton vibe… she’s just 100 years off 😅her looks resemble more the 1900s than the 1800s. So to me she almost looks like a time traveler.
I would really love it if Bridgerton knew how to do casual looks so that the glittery beautiful gowns stood out more. Also, Regency Era had some good casual looks ! That are very different from how they dressed at night !
I totally agree and feel like this season in particular was quite guilty of this - the glittery / beaded night time gowns should feel really special etc but they often feel less special than some of the day looks this season! Or it could just be my preference 😅
the way I cut out a full section of my talking about highlighter 😭 but tbf if we're going to do anachronistic makeup I prefer a glowy cheek to rhinestones 🫣
I think season 3 had some of the worst costumes. Like the materials just looked off to me? If that makes sense? Like almost cheaper? Also I thought this season's costumes looked the least accurate to the time period as well. Some costumes I still liked, but yeah.
Loved this one lucy! so much fun to go through the break down! I know season 4 of emily in paris is coming up in aug & sept if you'd be keen to do that too! (not the best story aha but so fun still!)
Literally can't stomach the Bridgerton fashions from any season! I agree that movie period costumes don't have to be perfectly authentic but the B. fashions are so bad and tacky and in-your-face anachronistic that I feel like it is insulting to its viewers, who are predominantly women. It's like it is talking down to women and giving us garbage that is obviously wrong because we're stupid and just want to look at fancy dresses and hot guys. Actually makes me mad. Hate it so much. PS: Funnily enough, fur muffs and various types of shawls are actually period authentic, but I think they were definitely interpreted badly in the show's designs.
