I just received my June strawberry kit. So excited to begin my first paper piecing project! I love precision, so I think I will love this!! Btw, Jen, what is the brand and color of your pretty nail polish?
❤ Thank you for this tutorial. You made clear and motivated me to try it. And no, your tutorials are never too long as they are interesting. 😊 👀see you back in part two.
Beautiful block, I recently came across your original Pineapple Quilt tutorial from years ago and I immediately went out and purchased the GG trim tool and I’m having so much fun making these blocks. I never in a million year could be this accurate without that trim ruler. 😊
Happy that you are enjoying this project and tutorial! The ruler is amazing and happy that it has helped you! Thank you for your support and comment! 😊 - Abby
Hi Lisa - We tend to use the "Magic Sizing" brand, but you may check with your local guild or friends to see what they prefer. Hope this helps :) -Michelle
Hi Mary - For our Flower Girl Quilt, the fusible grid comes in really long pieces so you will not need to attach grid pieces to grid pieces. The grid pieces for Flower Girl will be attached directly to the green sashing pieces. Hope this helps :) -Michelle
I’m a beginner quilter, Jen, and you’ve given me the confidence that I can do this quilt, thanks to your easy-to-understand video! I absolutely love Kaffe Fassett fabrics, and I just ordered the kit ❤️
Hi Sil - Using an AccuQuilt die requires a whole different set of instructions than the ones we designed for this kit. Our cutting and piecing instructions will not be relevant to the die. Since we're unfamiliar with this Accuquilt die, we cannot answer this question with any confidence. -Michelle
Hola ,muy hermoso el proyecto y la técnica. Yo lo hago en papel calco o transparente para poder ver la tela por el revés. Muchas gracias por enseñar tantos proyectos lindos.❤
I wonder if I can use one of my jelly rolls for this project instead of cutting my own straps. Jen, do you think a jelly roll will work for this project? I would love to use up some of my precut fabric.
Yes, a 2.5" strip roll should work for creating pineapple blocks (I don't know how many strips you'll need) - You'll want your strips at least 1&3/4 wide prior to trimming with the Pineapple Trim Tool: www.shabbyfabrics.com/p56276/ -Michelle
I saw where someone used a translucent storage bin with a flashlight in it for a light box. I haven’t done fpp so far but think I’ll go buy this kit. I love it!
I really appreciated what you said about your dedication to providing a heartfelt product for us all. I’m not American but I love your sentiment. I also love your patterns and fabrics and really appreciate all your hard work to sell such beautiful fabrics and patterns as well as your tutorials too. Thank you
We actually have both a paper pattern that you can purchase or a download. Here is the link for the paper pattern: www.shabbyfabrics.com/p71521/slice-rug-pattern Link for the download: www.shabbyfabrics.com/free-downloads-and-video/77/how-to-make-a-slice-rug Hope this helps and thank you for your comment! - Abby
Excellent tutorial. My challenge is putting the cluck cluck tape on my machine properly…any tips? Also I am from 🇨🇦 wish I could order your kit but exchange and duty would kill me! Quilting shops are so much better in the USA.
We're glad you enjoyed this tutorial! Have you seen our tutorial for the Cluck Cluck Sew tape yet? www.shabbyfabrics.com/free-downloads-and-video/503/diagonal-seam-tape-notion -Michelle
Hello, great video on this topic. I feel more confident. is there a video for doing the rest of the quilt? I did prairie points on my daughter’s baby quilt exactly 40 years ago on the first quilt I had ever made. I’ve only made a total of 5 quilt tops, finished 2. Now I am working on this one. A bit overwhelmed. I purchased the kit and the colors are lively…Love it…
We're so glad you enjoyed this tutorial! While we do not have a tutorial for the rest of this quilt top, you can check out our videos that teach the appliqué process: www.shabbyfabrics.com/free-downloads-and-video/c1/applique -Michelle
I have to tell you that I am in the process of making this quilt from your pattern. I bought the layer cake and fat quarter bundle in my home state before I knew what I wanted to make with it. I love blue!!! I did end up buying much of the fabric from Shabby Fabric in order to follow your pattern. I recently watched a video of the designer of this fabric line and all of the patterns they came up with doesn't compare to your pattern! Thank you sooo much!
Help please! Excellent detailed video. However, I cannot work out how wide to cut the binding so that you can stitch-in-the-ditch on the front and just catch the edge at the back. Did anyone spot whether Tammy actually stated the width? I'm guessing 2.5 inches, folded over to 1.25 inches, but that might be a bit wide?? Would appreciate an answer!
