"When the ashes are two, a flame alighteth. Thou are't ash and a flame befits thee." We touch the egg and the seal breaks. It was sealing the end of the world. An ashen heap of a burnt world. The last two survivors are a slave knight and the player. The slave knight has no want. He accepted his mission to seek the dark soul so that a new world may be painted. Having no want of his own, he is like patches. Patches thrives on punishing the want of others, but gael just has none of his own. He is a slave. I like to think that Gael is happy when he sees that we are the other ashen one. Cause he led us to the painting. So I think he knows that even if he loses and dies, there is still a chance you will show the blood of man to the lady so a world can be painted with blood of man and fire free from the influence of the gods and the undead curse that shackled us to flame. The player is chained to flame after gwyn stole the dark soul from manus in ds1 and burned it in the flame. (We respawn at the bonfire. We are a descendant of the dark soul. Manus has human feelings of missing something that was taken) "A flame befits thee" because we are forced to seek it out. We have no choice. Much like the slave knight. We have to seek it out and offer it to the dark in the secret ending so that the world can return to grey and unchanging. "One who has not seen flame can not paint. One who has been consumed by flame musn't paint." To create a good world, one must know the influence of the gods, but not commit to it. One must know what gwyn did. Only the player whos time phases in and out knows. The firekeeer ending is false she is commited to fire. We even see her take the flame within herself, not return it to the dark. So we kill her and do it ourselves in the secret ending. Then we live in the painting. "Surely it will make someone a goodly home." "Many of us are by the fire forsaken, i speak of your kind and mine." - human who was twisted by the abyss because gwyn chained him to flame "Demon in pain" is a boss. Its in pain because it was a primeval human who lived in the abyss when the linking occured. The entire game is about good robbing evil of its home and evil trying to find a new home. Evil being synonymous with human. The gods robbed us of it, of our dark soul. "Do you serve the Gods, or merely that role affect?" "Do you know the name of your God?" Everything points to humanity being betrayed by Gods, and leaving behind their world to forge a new one. In Miyazaki's words "the ashen one is one who failed to link the fire." Failed can mean they gave up, but I think it means they chose not to link it. Only one who is not commited to flame, can forge a good world.
Unfortunately the things you learn in souls don’t really apply to bloodborne. The brutality of the enemies constant aggression in either games is similar enough. But bloodborne is that much more fast paced. If you can’t keep up, you’re dead.
The weakness of nameless king is his left side where he is empty handed.. if you roll to that side and dodge his attacks n deal some damage it is cake walk
Thanks for including the reactions of seeing Anor Londo again. It's kinda disappointing only one of them realized it was Gwyndolin. But it's a shame NO ONE questioned why Aldrich looked like a femboy.
I cannot emphasis enough how important and worth it Siegward's questline is. Not only you get a Titanite Slab from him he freaking joins you in a 2v1 against Yohrm. He carried that fight because I didn't have Ashen Estus. Onion Bros 4 lyf.
Honestly respect to the guy who got the Demon Souls callback with the Storm Ruler and that other dude who did Siegward's quest. Even though he ignored the storm Ruler like a dingus.
A moment of silence for the dinguses who 1. Didn't do Siegward's questline (I strongly suggest you do it. It makes the boss fight awesome) 2. Didn't see the weapon near the throne and understand it was supposed to be a gimmick fight 3. Didn't know they had to charge the weapon first 4. FUCKING USED THEIR SCALES ON THIS TO UPGRADE IT FOR NO REASON
This boss is so fun to fight tbh. Dark Souls suddenly going Devil May Cry, just mowing down the fuckers left and Right. The only boss in the Souls series that I one shot yet. Me and Horus just tag teamed their asses.
The third Abyss Watcher is such a freaking homie. Without his distractions or tag team, my under leveled ass would have never have gotten to phase 2. That is until his AI sees you closer and decides to murk you too.
I never liked this boss. The first phase is a chore. You have chip his down quick until the second one spawns. Then I ran around until the third one spawned and distracted the other two while I helped him stay alive and take down the boss. Phase 2 is even garbage because of the lingering hit boxes along with the ranged fire slashes and not to mention the delayed hits. This boss has killed the game for many newbies. But it was a rite of passage for me and I pushed through. The first time I died 53 times to something in a game. I went to the Abyss Watchers instead of crystal Sage, I guess I was a bit under leveled.
Sometimes I regret not finishing Dark Souls 1 before 3. Because SoC's second phase is basically what little essence of Gwyn that remains trying to keep the flame lit. And I regret that I never got to experience the sheer feeling of realizing it.
This fight would be so much better if it was just 3 phrases of friede. Lore wise i like that father A is there but phase 2 is just so dog shit to me lol.
