If you have an Active/Passive (A/P) Firebox setup (Firecluster) you can do the upgrade without taking the network offline, in fact it's one of the popular reasons to use an A/P Firecluster, WatchGuard offers special pricing on the 2nd Firebox to form the cluster, if you e.g. have a Total Security T85 Firebox or above you don't have to pay for the Security Services on the 2nd cluster member resulting in a huge HA discount (approx. upto 70%) compared to the 'Active' Firebox with all the Security Services built in. Many customers run Firecluster upgrades during production/office hours as users nor systems should not notice it with an A/P Firecluster.
this is a great video! i also agree with the panel’s many excellent points, especially patrick. he brought up a very good point about commute. this is thousands of hours worth of energy wasted. this energy can now instead be reinvested into the person, their family and work. on that note, for the mental wellbeing we experience that having occasional office visits and ‘get togethers’ is a good thing for everyone because working from home can also add tremendous pressure on a person after a long time.
Thanks for this video, I have an issues can not connect Mobile VPN SSL Certificate on MacOS big sure version 11.7.10. when I try to connect it show message error: Connection Failed, please check your server IP or network
WG endpoint Licensing is a bit confuse and has less flexibility compared to Panda Licensing. I wish there were an option to manage it just like in Panda Partner Center which is very good there.
Our company purchased a WatchGuard device from one of their approved partners. The delivery time was lengthy, the device never worked, the RMA is still in transit, and we're still dealing with this nightmare."
My head is spinning. For my clients who are small businesses, Do I need Total Security? Or is Watchguard basic security ok.. Here's is the common profile for my small-biz customers. Have a local server=Yes, Also use Cloud-hosted services=YES, have a local VOIP phone system=Yes, Have inconsistent Virus Protection=Yes, Have inconsistent varieties of Firewalls=YES. Need Watchguard products=YES.
Is a T25 Firebox OK for a small business using less than 100Mbps total Internet bandwidth and no VPN usage? We will only need one port to connect to the AT&T DSL Modem for the WAN port & just one NIC port to connect to our main switch. So, as you can tell, a small business application. We would at least like the Basic Security Suite so that we at least get the Intrustion Protection feature. (I believe you call it IPS). Behind the firewall would be no more than 10 user workstations, an email server (MS-Exchange), and just a couple MS-File Servers for file storage, Thanks so much if anyone has time to answer this question and I appreciate it very, very much!! I have looked over the Watchguard specs on this unit and the comparison guide already. I'm just wanting another opinion (human), other than just tech specs and .PDF's. Again, thanks so much!!!!
Certainly wish the "Total Security Suite" Didn't double the cost of the firebox purchase. Would love to utilize it, but can't condone doubling the cost of this hardware to do so.
Regarding tiktok compared to others. I found information about a security situation with the in app web browser in tiktok that can log keystrokes. Supposedly all platforms have it but only tiktok has it enabled. That sounds very concerning.
