I am not David, but I know that he is doing a complete full season, every game for every team 1987 replay. He said that he is going to take his time and however long it takes him to play around 2000 games, so be it.
Mackanin was a pretty well respected coat and scout. He had three brief managerial chances, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Philadelphia. He wasn’t very successful, but I’m not sure who would have been in those situations. Around 2013-2014 he was a scout for the Yankees . When both New York and Boston were considering firing Girardi and Ferrell respectively, he was rumored for both jobs. Who knows if he had gotten one of those chances what would have happened.
Wow, do people really SM that way. As a kid, I just put the cards out and played and wrote the down the runs by inning and did real play by play and crowd noise. No keeping score, that would be boring.
I was in Cincinnati on Millionth Run Day. They announced we were one run away. Dave Concepcion hit a home run, and tore around the bases. The crowd went crazy, and then they announced Bob Watson had just scored prior to that. Cheers very quickly turned to boos.
Great game, David. I was a HUGE Pirate fan back in the 70’s, and I also started playing tabletop baseball games in 1973, so this game had special meaning to me. I was during through the Western Maine to an afternoon fishing destination while listening, so signal kept coming in and out. It was almost like trying to listen to KDKA again, and constantly losing the audio. Naturally, I lost the signal just after Robertson ph and got a ballpark HR. I had to drive another 20 minutes to find out it fell short of the wall! Thanks again! Joel
Why is there an error check on 2B after a single? Should it be the RF? Phillips had error check, result a single than error check on Phillips. Love 1987 baseball, great video.
Baseball Demos/David. That was an interesting game. I hope you had fun making your own lineups and being the manager before the game deciding who was going to play and what your batting order was going to be. Then setting your rotations for the series. It puts your directly responsible for how the game may turn out. Thanks for the play-by-play, game and video.
David, that was a great first game of the ALCS. Two excellent teams that should battle each game. Thanks for all you do for the community which is composed of outstanding people. I think you will get a kick out of doing your own lineups and rotations for the NL.
I’m about to embark on a replay of the 1977 White Sox. They were such a fun team to watch. The offense was unbelievable. The pitching and defense held about for a little more than half the season.
To give you an idea of just how dumb I am. I’m thinking, I don’t remember the Sox and Giants playing in the World Series completely forgetting that you have replayed the season and playoffs with different results. LOL
In Reggie’s younger days he had a great arm, and was an outstanding defensive outfielder. When he went to the Yankees he lost interest in playing defense.
