Sorry for the late reply, I usually don't open up comments. These were filmed by me in the 1970s. Its likely this was the night Jerry Haas won in his Pinto. It was a special 1000$ to win AHRA race. These were super 8 film, which you had only 3.25 minutes of film and then done! My content was somewhat squandered, and I don't remember if there was 2nd or 3rd reel shot that night? I think it was a duck shoot for Haas? They may have ran off track records, and he was an out of state racer.
Fishing leader wire comes in all kinds of diameters. I use it frequently in clearing jets. Pipe cleaners as well. Motion pro of course has a more expensive set but if you work on bikes it may be worth it.
Just after cleaning the 2 jets, I buttoned it up, it started and ran perfect. Such a good feeling when you finally understand what works. I saved you the stupid part of teardown, and just showed where your poor starting issues are. The bike went out and hit 32 mph again, without spending more than the cost of a fuel pump and filter. As a note, I also checked valve lash, which was perfect, and checked the normal issues. In the end it’s always 1- got fuel, 2- got spark? Then progress further, in my case it’s fuel on a very micro level. The fuel passage is shockingly small at .014” diameter in those jets!
