Conclusion: Drinking is not forbidden by the Bible. Drunkenness is however forbidden and a very real danger both to the individual as well as to anyone nearby observing. Therefore drinking is strongly discouraged. Legalists forbidding and reckless endorsing are both in the wrong in different ways. Why? Because Legalism is wrong and shouldn't be tolerated. Recklessness is wrong and shouldn't be tolerated.
Big lie at 11:18. You just get finished basically explaining that women have no place in teaching or pastoring in the church, that they should learn (of Christ’s teachings) in silence. Then you spew nonsense after timestamp 11 minutes of how “in Christ women gained individual standing as well as their own understanding of their personal value through Him”. But they can’t be pastors?? Says who? Paul, speaking to Timothy? The Bible is the word of God? Not exactly. It’s a whole lot of stories of people imposing on to their contemporaries at the time their interpretation of how they saw Christ and his teachings. And then all those stories were gathered together and some were kept, some thrown out, some edited. And then for a thousand years all of those were translated, re-edited, translated and so own. One only need read a NIV next to the King James Version to see how different they are. Stop telling women how much you love and respect them while continuing to keep them silent and subjugated.

Yes, this is so true! Rebellion and disobedience is human nature.. I can attest to that based on personal experience.. Like a moth to flame we are drawn to forbidden things despite of being aware of the consequences.. That is why we sorely need a savior.. As we cannot help ourselves.. Placing Dagon along with the Ark Of The Covenant and its ensuing events has a touch of humor into it.. But it also displays God's grace and long suffering patience... He disciplined them yes; but He could've decimated the Philistines for such blasphemy and idolatry.. But the Lord knows they didn't know any better; unlike what the Israelites knew.. So He showed them His power by toppling over their idol twice! But sadly it was lost on them.. We people can really be that dumb and dense when it comes to spiritual things.. Naaman got it somehow though when he was cured from his leprosy albeit a wee bit delayed...
34:48 I always love Pastor Dave's sermons.. His preaching is really good! This was uploaded long way back! Strangely it didn't receive as much views and comments it deserves! Some so-called Christians tends to gravitate on more popular preachers and not the message itself! They'd rather brown nose those types and stroke their egos without even noticing their twisted doctrines. They savor the narcissistic supply their fellow commenters give them instead of enriching their souls with scripturally sound teaching! Then they troll those who don't agree or do not conform to their narratives...

At 27:35 there is mention of a time where our society was a "polite society". This is true. You can even watch movies from the 50s and 60s where the manners from men are on full display. Tipping the hat, or rising when a woman walks in. Students sitting in class straight up and hands folded listening to the teacher. Most black & white movies and tv shows comfirm that this was the norm. But the 1 thing that boggles my mind to no end is that at the very same time American society lived by the code: "do unto others as you would have them do unto you", they also acted in the most inhuman ways towards Black people. Its just difficult to wrap my mind around how one can feel so polite, and loving yet be a member of the KKK or simultaneously have such hatred in the heart. It just makes me wonder.... Has there been a time when polite society was truly a Godly thing? Where most of society were kind to EVERYONE and didnt mistreat anyone based on race or class? Has that ever existed in mankind? Or has there only been periods of politeness (for your race only) moments in history. I am just curious.
Pastor Dave, I listen to other Godly men who love His Word. They are very humble too. I came upon your channel by searching for sermons on passages a couple of weeks ago. Today's teaching was so discerning. You are among my list of Brothers to listen for The Truth Thank you and God Bless you.
Preaching a false doctrine of escape to tickle the ears of the unlearned. Take that doctrine to the Africa, Syria, Iran, Kakystan, Saudia Arabia, etc and preach it to the Christians there and you will learn real fast how wrong you are. John said in Chapter 6: 39,40,44,54; 11:23-24 that all who believe in Him will be raised up at the last day. Jesus did not say that "all who believe in me, I will raise up prior to a period of time known as the great tribulation. In fact, Jesus said he would do this immediately after tribulation of those days. The Apostle Paul, who received his doctorate of Theology from Jesus, said it this way; " Heb 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation". One cannot separate 1Ths4:13-18 (the pretrib rapture proof text) from : 2Th 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 2Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 2Th 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 2Th 1:10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. Who did Paul say Jesus is coming for: verse 10 - "all them that believe". The pretrib rapture doctrine does not allow for Jesus to descend in flaming fire and taking out vengeance but only to receive those who believe unto Himself. But that is not what these scriptures teach. 2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; "By our gathering together unto Him". Plain as the nose on your face. A great apostacy (departting from the faith ) 1Tim 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Exactly what Paul says in 2Ths2:3 - apostasy and the man of ruin will come before we gather together to Him. And that will be at the LAST DAY !! Rev 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, AND HIS WIFE HATH MADE HERSELF READY Rev 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. Rev 19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. Verse 20 and 21 - is that not exactly what Paul said would happen in : 2Th 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Remember 1Ths4:13-18 is not a separate event from 2Ths1:7-10. Rev 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, Rev 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. THIS IS THE FIRST RESURRECTION. Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the FIRST RESURRECTION: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. This is the rapture of the church and the OT saints. On the last day as Jesus and Paul taught. And it is after great tribulation. Please dear saints, don't be deceived by the false doctrine of escaping persecution. Please don't be so naive that you can't see the hypocrisy in all the suffering and persecution the church has gone through since the day Jesus was taken down off the tree 2000+ years ago to think that somehow the last generation before His coming is more special than all the rest through the ages. Paul told Timothy: 2Ti 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. Remember what Paul taught the Ephesians: Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand IN THE EVIL DAY and having done all, to stand. Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Grace, understanding, wisdom to all who would read this comment.

I just wanted to put another perspective for you that you may not have thought about that may help with your feelings about your mother having a stack of clippings of people saying bad things. AsA mother, it would hurt my heart to see people saying bad things about my child. The more I saw the more it would probably make me angry. Which then would lead me to repenting and praying for my child’s enemies. My first thought was, she possibly had that stack so that she could be praying over those people because she loved you so much.
It's been a while since I last watch Pastor David's sermon.. This bible passage is one of those that makes me think of my mortality.. Sometimes I'm so caught up with this life's concerns inconsequential attention grabbers; then I would hear news about some people I know that died; some even much younger than I am! It's a reality check for me that life is so fragile. That while still breathing we shouldn't be lax and careless and not think of our eternal destination, our salvation and most of all of God.. This lifetime is our only chance to repent, believe in the Lord and His sacrifice and after that; no more! Just like the rich man and the rich fool in Jesus' parables too late for them! It's so easy to get distracted with the things of this world..
Note that he said every ONE, as in every single one of his sins, not EVERYONE. You’re not forgiven if you haven’t asked for forgiveness and turned away from your sin. Jesus wants so badly to forgive you. Give your life to Him, He is worth more than anything this world can give you. Sin will destroy you, but Jesus gives life and life in abundance!
