Can I change my mind? My favourite version of "Desperado" is now by the wonderful 12 yr old Emily Linge (now 14) Every cover she makes turns to gold! Sorry Jess!
The Petersens have a good version on RU-vid as well as lot of country stuff, worth a listen. As I'm now going to search this little girl out, not often you come across a child with the maturity to deliver the big stuff.
@@Webbsongs Keep on pushing. I was astounded the first time I heard him back in the mid 1970's. I bought the live album this track is taken from and played it to death.
David Pratt, thanks so much for uploading this...so many special memories from following the Docs around the place Also this was Pearse Doherty's last tour so it's great to see this captured. Do you have the rest, or any more footage ?
@@mmcilwee April 2019!!! So sorry not to got back to you - I didn't notice your question. Yes I have most of the concert. I will endeavour to upload. Bear with me!! Best wishes David
great version of a great song, sax info is so soulful.......Jess is obviously a fine singer but.............singers don't come much better than Don Henley and its Don's song........pointless to compare them, just enjoy it
I was working in a record shop back in the 1970's when I first heard this. I couldn't believe it, I'd never like the song till I heard this version. I bought the album (staff discount) and still have it. Fantastic to hear he's still singing.
Thanks Gerald for posting this. For those Jess Roden fans wondering where this came from, it's a redigitized and remasterd version of Desperado - discovered three years ago by Neil Storey of Hidden Masters - along with another 94 tracks (50% unpublished) - which in 2013 were made into a very special album for Jess, called Anthology. The mastering on this track was done by Richard Whittaker of FX. if you want to know more about Jess, everything is on the Hidden Masters website.
