This play was fantastic. I really hope it gets to Broadway and a cast album is made. Louder, louder has been in my head since I came back from Berkeley. 0:37
Saw this musical premiere yesterday at Berkeley Rep. OMG! What a fantastic production! The vocal solos, duets and choruses were like arias. While the orchestral back-up was a wonderful soft rock genre that complimented the vocals. It is not a musical, but an grand opera. The simple stage set with great visual effects, and the costuming were perfecto. Bravo... We saw the currently honed production unlike some of the videos on RU-vid.
@@dingledangle1645 There are several pre premier videos out from NYC rehearsals on You tube. The stage sets are very different from the Berkeley Rep. premiere production.
AMAZING!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the harmonizing at the end!! Just BEAUTIFUL!!! I can only imagine how powerful the rest of the story is & to watch it in person must be wonderful!! 🤯 💖 🤗 👍🏽
The singing, music, staging, costumes, acting and history lesson are all outstanding. The moral of the story pertains to now, as it involves people having to bow to politics or religion just to be able to survive or carry on their work. PS Just a minor complaint: I’m an opera lover and this was ear splitting loud. If you’re not used to live rock concerts, do bring earplugs. My eardrums were vibrating extra hard, and I have a prosthesis in my right ear that was in overdrive. I actually was worried about additional hearing loss, as I use earplugs just to practice my Steinway at home. You’ll appreciate my advice, if you’ve never been to a rock concert. Enjoy! Leave your hearing aids at home! You can hear this all the way in San Francisco. 😂. There was one lyric repeated several times: louder, louder, louder. Everyone in our vicinity was chucking when I whispered: NO not louder!
Galileo really was a genius as well as being incredibly brave to disagree with the powerful church's view of Earth being at the centre of the universe. Wish I could see this too, maybe a UK tour next year?!
@@chocolatesouljah You most definitely need to go see it!!! I mean, how often does Raul Esparza (an AMAZING performer) make his way to California, let alone Berkeley?? He's practically in your backyard!! BONUS!!! 🤗 💖 👍🏽
OK ... what's geology (aka "rock" musical) got to do with astronomy?!? You know: one discipline has to do with the earth and the other with the stars. Of course, Hollywood has proved time and again there are no true stars on earth.
My wife and I danced to this beautiful song for our First Dance at our wedding reception 5 years ago. Our absolute favorite song. We love u guys so much. Wish we could see u more❤️
18 years ago for my hubby and I. We’re still going strong. We could have had them play our wedding…but I would have been so distracted. 😅 It’s such a beautiful song.
I so wish I could see this. But I live right in the middle of the country and can’t travel due to health concerns. Guess I’ll have to wait for the cast recording.
Got my tickets for 2 nights.. a preview and right after opening - can’t wait to see my dear friend Javi and this amazing cast! This makes me so excited!
I know a someone personally that was "delivered" to Weinstein by HEADLAND!!!!, and she didn't have the media support and money to be able to fight back. I can't believe she is able to just skirt by this and the public ignores it. They still suffer from it. It is disgusting that this groomer pig is able to make a movie that children will see. She is a vile disgusting person. I think she did it because she is such an ugly person, that she wanted to punish those who are better looking than her.
