the further from the equator the bigger the tidal change. and then depending on the relation of the moon and sun you will get a tide of more or lesser height. if you have a large bay with a narrow throat for all that water to come through it will " build" a larger amount of water trying to rush thru the narrow gap. going into puget sound ( straits of san juan de fuca) funnels a vast volume of water ,
@@62schmidt the narrow channel having higher tides makes sense but not the equator thing. And what about tidal nodes where there’s no tides…. Have you ever seen a tide map? There’s almost no rhyme or reason to it. It’s like the ocean has places it fills and drains
@@62schmidt totally. It’s like fill valve and overflow system to keep the ocean from stagnation. Our creator was a brilliant engineer. I’m excited we’re getting closer to figuring out the true earth
Cape Breton was annexed by mainland nova Scotia in 1864, or in that time approx,, we are an island people, to us, nova Scotia starts on the other side of the canso causeway! We do not accept their claims that we are nova scotias master piece! We are cape Breton islanders!!!!!!!
Great video. Thanks for the tour. My uncle John Fulton was the light house keeper there many years ago! I,m originally from the area but never got to tour the island. Loved exploring the coastlines from Advocate to Apple River. So much beauty .
JAN 2020 - Please be aware that there is a mammoth viewing deck planned for construction at Peggy's Cove by June 2020, with cantilevered portions of the deck that will necessitate grading the granite boulders, pouring tons of concrete, and irrevocably changing this iconic view forever from many view planes. If you are concerned about this issue, and want more information, join the FB Group, Save the Natural Beauty of Peggy's Cove. Over 700,000 visitors go to this site annually, and if they do, they won't see this view anymore, unless plans of Develop NS are stopped or curtailed.

On a side note, the famous pirate captain kidd and his legendary treasure that was never found has been rumoured to be in the atlantic canada region and that island could be an excellent place for said treasure haha
