There isn't really a "walkthrough" as such the game ends when you want it to. You may want to take out the empire or make the empire own everything or you may want to start your own kingdom and conquer the map. Its up to you how you play. I can do what an average playthrough would be like if that helps :-) or a guide to do the main campaign.
Absolutely, also once they are skilled up you can put together a small army of elite troops and merc out smashing the smaller parties and earning bank!
With you mentioning the bug where you could not assign your companion to a role when calling back. The fix for this is to put your companion in a town, it can be any town you dont even have to own it, then speak to them with dialog to get them back in your party (dont choose the option "Take to party"), actually speak to them first. This seems to fix it each time it happens. Rather annoying.
I have played since early access so I suppose I have seen the game in much worse states but I do agree they need to finish up some of the bits that are not 100% complete and not rely on modders to finish it. Either the devs need to come back with regular updates and content or they need to leave the game for the modders so we don't have to keep remaking mods for new versions.
If you are new to the game I would recommend being a vassal until you are more comfortable with the mechanics of the game. If you are set on your own kingdom wait for a city to rebel, attack one of their villager groups to provoke a war then siege the city.
I’ve played about 80 hours of this game over the last like 4-5 days and had to restart a few different saves, I’m back to the begging now because I could not win for the life of me. This guide is going to help so much now!! thank you!!
My new mission and what I usually tell my buddies is get married !! ASAP ! 🤣 do the research 🤣 make sure she’s young and have at least 4 kids ! This new run I’m doing I got 8 kids so far and especially with the new update where kids get random traits 🤯 talk about the key to killing lords 🙏
Thanks for this explanation, I only recently started playing again (last time was somewhere in early access). I've been buying the expensive/faster horses for no good reason it seems. I just assumed it would increase the base speed. Hope you will make more videos like these as there are probably more little things I haven't figured out. Keep up the good work, its refreshing to hear calm explanations on youtube.
I did the exact same thing, I would travel for ages to get the Aserai horses. When I realised it didn't matter I could have kicked myself! I have 16 other guides to do about various mechanics in game so hopefully some of them will be useful to you :-)
I would like more info on getting other members of the clan and family married and getting them pregnant and filling the map with my descendants. I am playing really slow and will have a long playthrough on this first campaign and am looking to make a large dynasty.
I like it! Initial advice don't marry off your daughters, get the virile perk keep your wife in your party at all times. You can get 3-5 kids that way. Marry off your sons / grandsons asap to young nobles from other clans. Will work on something more detailed for you :-)
Never seen open stash before. what is that? I really appreciate your vid as they are current. there WERE a ton of top tier creators for this and they have moved on and there stuff is a year old. My son and I just bought the game so up to date stuff is nice.
Just trying to be helpful :-) The stash is available once you get a castle or town of your own. You can keep things there so like if you wanted to do a 100% cavalry army for a bit you can put all your horses in your castle so you don't get the herding penalty. If you are new to the game join one of the kingdoms as a vassal and they will give you a town or castle fairly quickly. I would recommend Vlandia to new players as they are aggressive and quite tough. Any questions just shout up I will help if I can!
finally started playing this again. first time since full release. i deleted all my old saves. i wandered around while trying to figure out how i wanted to play this time. i always go archer army, build. i wanted to try something different. glad to see the sturgian route can work. i think i try that for a change of pace on the battle field.
I did a full campaign of Sturgian Infantry only. No archers or cavalry. With the right captains with the right perks they were unstoppable. I may re-do the campaign on my other channel knightly plays that's where I do my longer play through videos. On another note, welcome back to the game!
As much as it looks like he is old enough he isn't the sister always reaches age before the brother I think you have another year or two before he comes of age. Also don't forget if you accept any of the marriage proposals that you will get for your sister she will leave your party.
@@KnightlyGuides-yy8xl thanks mate! Cause a lot of quest were garbage and a huge waste of time, and I don't know if they upped the rewards to make it worth it or nerfed manual laborers cause the money off that was fantastic. And maybe something on the newer titles that companions can have.
Yea the majority of the questing has changed but there are a couple that are still worth doing. To be honest in most of my playthroughs if it takes longer than a few mins I send a companion to take care of it.
@@KnightlyGuides-yy8xl so i got crazzy far last night lol i want to be independent and have my own kingdom but its telling me i need to start a settlement. The guy said hed explain exactly how to do that but didnt do a very good job any idea where to go from here. thanks for taking the time to respond bro i really appreciate it
So basically you need to capture a town or castle to start your new kingdom in. Honestly though you want to do a vassal run your first time. Going solo is rough everyone will declare war on you and you won't have the money to pay them all off. Become a vassal of someone else for now and build that money up. They will give you some towns if you help with their wars. I have another channel knightly plays where I am doing an Aserai play through you may find that useful. Glad you enjoying the game and ask any questions you want I'll answer what I can ☺️
@@KnightlyGuides-yy8xl okay thank you bro i really appreciate it so for my 1st run you recommend i become a vassal i chose sturgis backround does that affect who i can become a vassal for?
What a strange siege. I'm used to seeing the walls get overwhelmed at multiple areas and multiple ladder points, but they really seemed determined to focus down on one area. That glitched out Vlandian unit on the walls seems to happen every so often... I like grabbing fire pots and tossing them into the middle of the scrum. Quick, efficient, and a lot of fun watching those green bars slide by up on the right. Then again, I tend to be that commander who just tells all the sergeants to take charge, and I man the fire catapults personally until they're too close to shoot at... and then just lob fire pots down below by hand. LOL.
They had to go up that one set of ladders because towers replace ladders and they lost the tower and battering ram to the catapults which is ideal when you are facing a force with much greater numbers than you. I don't think I had fire pots, either you or the governor of the castle needs to have engineering 150 for those but you are 100% correct nothing more satisfying that a good hit with a fire pot! Not sure what happened with the guys on the wall but if they hadn't of glitched out they would have flanked my shield wall covering the ladders and we would have lost so I am lucky that they did!
But depends on how you want to play and because your wife can die due to giving birth a battle but early on the number help with army size which help with renown as a mercenary assuming you let people go rather than taking them prisoner, it will increase your charm. But then again I'm on console more accurately Xbox .
I've had like 4 play through already and every time I still get Yana and she leads my Horse Archers while I lead the melee. Is it because she's a great warrior? Maybe. Is it because she is great governor/party leader? Maybe. Is it because she's all around a good wife? *HELL YEAH* And I'm just down bad for her. And in one play through, she gave me like 5 babies with all positive traits (+2 traits).
Yana is a solid pick, I always go Svana she leads my infantry and even in a 100% Sturgian Infantry only run where my entire army was on foot she never died. I think now I pick her out of respect from that playthrough!
Believe me brother there is nothing special about me! I have never not seen sheep / hogs in Poros especially as it has two livestock villages, if that is what you are seeing push on to Lycaron to the west that also has a livestock village so should have sheep early on. 😊
At 14:16 when you were checking to see if you needed a war horse for the upgrade, its on the portrait. There's a little horse head starting on the Imperial Equite.
I see what your looking at, what I meant was the Vilga needs two horses during its progress to T6 one normal horse and one war horse I was looking to see if it was clear as to what tier the warhorse was required and there doesn't seem to be an indication. The horse head under its name next to its tier just signifies its a cavalry unit.
New sub here, cheers for the tips. I'm pretty new to Mount and Blade, I dabbled in War Band but didn't know what I was doing lol. This time round, I struggled on Mount and blade 2 bannerlord (overwhelming lol) with being attacked every five seconds when I tried to do my own kingdom too early (Also dreadful with some of the weapon types, I can only use One Handed, Two Handed and Bows lol). My main struggles as a newbie was fund management (being profitable, when a vassal being given multiple fiefs and not being able to afford them) and movement speed (I didn't know what stat influenced it (scouting you've said thank you lol), so I used as many perks to boost movement and got as many horses as possible without triggering herding. Is there a way to maintain high movement speed? I just about manage 6-6.5 when not part of any army lol. Also keep up the guides, will check out more of your guides!
You are more than welcome! Starting your own Kingdom on your first run is brave! I would advise be a vassal first time round until you get the feel for it. Also sometimes if the rest of the clans like you and the ruler dies you could end up leading the faction you were working for! Your fiefs should never be a negative income unless they have a garrison full of tier 4-5 troops. When a castle or town is successfully taken the attacking army has a habit of filling its garrison with high end troops which you then have to foot the bill for. Take those troops and donate them to an army or someone else’s town. Keep a tier 1-3 garrison in your towns or none at all and that will bring your costs down significantly. At 6.5 the only thing outrunning you is Steppe bandits that’s almost top end movement speed. Why do you want to move faster?
@@KnightlyGuides-yy8xl Oooh that's super helpful thanks! I had no idea about potentially being made a successor that's awesome. I was losing fiefs easily when far away cause my troops were low tier but the wages ko'd me so yeah that makes sense aha. I'll do that, take the troops and fill with lower tier troops! Honestly no idea about the speed when you say it like that haha, I just like zipping across the map as fast as possible. Especially when having to dash back to defend my fiefs or towns. It also depends on the kind of avatar my character wants to be. Bandit King to have high speed to go after caravans (Which are 6-6.5 some of them oof), but yeah more for defensive actions on the map then offensive. Appreciate the reply, I feel it will help me going forward aha.
Also remember to get your militia up if your combined militia and garrison are higher that the surrounding towns you are less likely to get sieged in the first place.
Idk if it counts, but if you are going for a 2h character and want a starting 2h weapon, you can just buy 6 wood, smelt both your civilian and main weapon, and that should be enough to craft one 2h sword for personal usage in early game. Its much cheaper than buying 2h weapons, which for some reason are quite expensive
Yes of coarse this is the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GrRKbTIUQzA.html if you cant use that just look up “Knightly Plays” same profile picture but blue. Currently doing an Aserai only play through no smithing and everything has to be Aserai, companions, family and troops. This video was taken from an infantry only play through I did with Sturgia as a test for my next challenge video.
Great video. One question I have is if you've noticed that in simulations the army of the defending side seems to fight better? Wether they're actually defending or not I remember when I did testing like this even if i f1 + f3 armies of the exact same strength at each other the "defenders" almost always won.
Being on the defensive will always give you an advantage but yes I get what you mean. Keep in mind most of the leaders of the clans in all the factions have tactics leveled up to some degree and as players we tend to neglect tactics as a skill so they will always have a slight advantage in auto resolve 😊
I gotta disagree with your point on the best starting troops. Early in the game, 90% of your enemies will be low tier bandits with a few being mid and less being high. Your best option are archers, preferably Fians or Crossbowmen, but any archers are suitable for the early game. You can easily handle looters double or triple your party if you have a full party of archer, command, and fight well. If you’re dealing with mountain or desert bandits, archers are a must to handle the small amount of cavalry. It’s when you begin dealing with sea raiders that you should begin to consider infantry. As for cavalry, you should only have cavalry in the early game if you’re with the Khuzaits because of the bandits they deal with. Most of the time their bandits are horse archers which are difficult to deal with when your troops are sitting ducks.
All solid points, I think I probably named that section poorly. My point was when people start putting together their first army for wars etc those are the types of troops I would go with for each type as they are very forgiving not necessarily their first ever troops 😊
this is the first video i watch for you , generally i enjoy watching BL gameplay and i did enjoy the video but i think you should be commentating more good job 🤍🤍
For that surgeon bug you mentioned I have talked to them in conversation(I think from the clan page) and assigned them to the "new role" and their stats take effect but the icon picture shows blank. Hope that helps
Its a good workaround thank you. I normally drop them off in a town / castle then leave re-enter and you get the prompt there is a clan member there. I think at this point that bug has been there so long they are never going to fix it!
I remember I did a desert hideout and thought to myself “these are easy” then did a sea raiders hideout and lost all the guys I went in with then lost the dual with the sea raider captain at the end!
I have never found the high ground / low ground to be overly advantageous. What were most of your losses from? Its hard to offer advice without more info but if you were double their number and their troops were not significantly higher tier that’s a winnable fight.
