In support of twitter accounts @EGXWinfo & @EGXPinfo - We are not official, nor are we anything to do with the MOD/RAF. We tweet aircraft movements at RAF Waddington & RAF Scampton for enthusiasts. We do not pass information that is not in the public domain. On request of the MOD/RAF we may remove content at any time. Video's of secondary radar are made using commercial software (PlanePlotter from COAA) & Approach CCTV Camera is 5nm from the airfield directly underneath the approach path to Runway 20 at RAF Waddington & footage recorded is from public area/airspace. Information on aircraft movements comes from the PlanePlotter network of authorised ground stations worldwide and does not come from any restricted source.
Great info. managed to reprogram a used 3500xlt (my last one scans but never stops, couldn't get it repaired here in uk )on Freescan and now I know how to select everything. Looks a lot easier to find than the 125 :)
FLIGHT RADAR 24 HAS RECENTLY CHANGED AND IT IS A TOTAL FAIL. PEOPLE LIKE ME PAID FOR A SERVICE THAT THEY TOOK AWAY AND REPLACED IT WITH A TOTALLY UNUSABLE VERSION OF THEIR IDEA OF AN IMPROVEMENT.
Wow, you've answered so many questions I had, thanks! Would love to this see this overview in print in Radio User or Practical Wireless magazine, you'd get paid and they could sell extra advertising space off the back of it. Would also like see to a receiver 'shoot out' in Print. It's hard to know if some of the the USB sticks aren more than just a repacked TV dongle with a preamp and bandpass filter.
Thank you for this. I bought my Uniden 3500xlt about three years ago. I took it to three airshows. The first one i forgot it was in the bag. The second one i took it, remembered i'd brought it but then spent an hour trying to use it before giving up. The third one i took both it AND the instructions and again after an hour of trying to work out how to use it, and that's with a mate who has owned three different scanners, gave up. Now i've just downloaded Freescan and will see if i can understand that before i spend a week at Mach Loop next month! If all goes well i'll be able to know when something is coming BEFORE it suddenly appears and wakes me up...
Great video your stock on the budget kits is out so have found something that’s about dearer but will do would love a tutorial making the pinunit for 360 radar would it run on a pi zero W ?
I use Flightradar24 and it’s dead on every time I see a plane outside, it’ll show exactly over top of me. Don’t know if they are just extremely good at guessing or if they don’t use guesstimates any longer.
Will These Planes Flyover American Secondary Schools Colleges and Universities OUSD Job Training Centers DeFremery School Santa Fe School Recreational Centers For a Fire Drill? No or Yes, Not Until 2021 due to COVID
Michelle Middleton I know how you like details! Speaking of which I can’t believe someone actually read the description! Oh, and you tell the Unicorns that!
+Richard Harrold The Date is on the opening title, Friday 11th December 2015. All Hunters on the Civilian Register are grounded however HHA have permission to operate on the Military Register where the CAA rule does not apply.
Hi Nathan, Thank you for your question. The short answer is No. The long answer is: I have considered it but there are a few problems. 1) Bandwidth as the internet connection is very slow where the camera is 2) Most Webcam facilities refresh about 1 frame a minute, given it takes about six seconds for an aircraft to go over you probably would never see one 3) It is a CCTV camera that is occasionally used to keep an eye on property but I would not want to broadcast the cameras location 4) Due to it being 5 miles out you only get 5% to 10% of traffic going into Waddington anyway and that is when they are not using Runway 02, most aircraft join on final's 4nm from the runway or closer. I hope thats answered your questions. Subject to workload during the day any videos are uploaded straight away on here anyway.
