Imo (maybe a hot take) all the bosses in the second half of the game are bad or meh. The first half of the bosses are pretty decent though Also I'm the opposite. Gergoth for me is atrocious. The whole big giant boss in an enclosed environment is a boss fight design I'll never understand why its a thing
Some choice ironic moments 18:17 "And who knows, maybe we're just getting started. Maybe we'll get to a 30 minute Peeping Eye." 19:40 "And to think I was considering uploading this to RU-vid." 27:55 [referring to setting a potential anti-record of spending an unprecedented THIRTY minutes farming Peeping Eye] "I'm getting kinda nervous, I DON'T want the soul to drop now." 42:19 "I am actually really nervous that we're going to make it to 45 [minutes of farming Peeping Eye]."
Not trying to diminish the accomplishment but I expected a lower time save. It got really complicated with the routing and controlling the high speed but it just got down 4 minutes. This got really hard in just two weeks, Congratulations
Jupiter I hope you see this and really take it to heart. You’re an excellent commentator and I think you could expand using that skillset. I’ve listened to a lot of commentators over a decade of watching stuff like this and you’re top tier 100%. Kept everything engaging, informed the viewer of what was going on, and perfectly set the stakes. Calling that Sniper target the first game and being proven right almost an hour later was a really fun moment as a viewer
Never knew the screams of the ghost ladys in the monestary are different in japanese. Edit: Many creature sounds or screams in fact. Kinda neat trivia. Also huge congrats, GG, well deserved WR and incredible 26 skip by the legend himself.
Let this be a reminder that perhaps this wouldn't have happened as early has he not lost a sub 27 moments before this run. A 1min+ improvement record is nothing short of amazing. As how this stands now, this is the last minute barrier for Order of Ecclesia, so big congrats to Jup for such achievement after a painful heartbreaking moment.
I typically enable a "double walk speed" cheat during casual plays of GBA/DS vanias, as a quality of life thing... I'm glad to see something similar in the speedruns now. Walking normally just feels so slow!
This question comes up often so for those who don't know, I use a "velcro controller" aka a mini keyboard that is velcro'd above my right knee. You really need keyboard mash speed for top times in Ecclesia speedrunning, this setup makes it easy to switch between gamepad and numpad.
@@JupiterClimb Ah, I didn't know that. I assumed you had them mapped to L2+R2 for faster mashing and it just didn't show up on the tracker. Sorry if my comment came across as accusatory, that wasn't my intention.
Here's an explainer video I made for those wondering "What the heck is happening in this speedrun?", please give it a watch! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EjKrLTHh1XY.html

I know this is a bit late but thank u Jupiter for showing us this masterpiece! I took my absolute time enjoying this game and managed to beat it 100% and after I completed the "4 endings" challenge. This was, as you said, a childhood dream, I always wanted to see a Classicvania remake and maybe turned into a metroidvania and here we are. What a absolute timeline to live in ♥
Shanoa gameplay is considered OP compared to other Metroidvania games. OoE game itself was designed as fast paced game, Shanoa can dish a lot of damage fast, but with consequence of having fragile HP/Defense, while the enemy and boss also have fast movement and tight attack pattern. It's just unfair tbh.
