You could just leave them, but they take the same amount of time to explode either way, so it's safer to kill all but one in that time. That way if you screw up the skip you only get hit for around 70-80 damage instead of an instant death. Another upside is you basically auto dodge all the boulders without even trying just by attacking the skulls.
Im curious running with trident during shadows without switching to bowfa ill catch dps check every time. Does running in cycle do the “skip” like if in the corner or just gotta eat em ?
@@LoewenKP90 yeah.. without shadow you do get dps checked quite a lot. you can line up the butterfly to skip it but from what I’ve seen that’s more just getting lucky if that happens. What you can do to avoid all damage though is if you know you are about to get dps checked, run around the map to a different shadow, and while akkha is walking over to you, do the dps skip over there. Then run back around the room back to where you were and continue butterflying. Hopefully that makes sense, if not can try to help you out more!

Yep it will be in sync! Yeah you got it, you count until you know the next tick will be your attack, activate the prayer before the attack, and then on the tick that you attack you disable it. If you need any more help feel free to ask!
i HAVE to skull skip. I live in rural Australia, out in the fking bush and insanity is simply not possible with the internet we have in my area :(( unless I skull skip
You can do it I believe in you. If you have high ping it might be worth it to do the method where you just equip a bow and spam click. There's lots of videos on it!
Hmm interesting I never actually tried running diagonally. I did get the quiver but if I go back for fun I'll have to try that out for sure, thanks for the tip!
Don't be afraid to move pillars my man, I'm not an amazing PVMer and knew my limits. I could pray flick simple stacks, but that opens me up to error. Just because you CAN solve a stack, doesn't mean you shouldn't change pillars to simplify :)
Nice guide! I'm learning the raid now and I have troubles when I turn on Insanity, I'm too slow on the skulls and they always explode. What do you reckon, is it easier to learn skull skip or should I just not suck at the game?
Thanks! I would say it's useful to learn the timing of killing the skulls, especially because it helps with this method, as you can kill all but one and then transition right into the skull skip :)
Thanks! If you miss the skip I believe it's 75 or 85 damage. It might scale with higher invocation levels, but if you are full HP you won't get one hit if you kill all skulls but one!

There's two main reasons. The first is that it makes the timing really easy. By the time you kill all but one and then make it to the marked tiles, there's about 1-2 ticks before they explode, so you can time it nicely. The second is that by killing all except one, if you accidently mess up the skip, you wont get one shot and will only get hit a 75 I believe it is. You could kill zero skulls, but you have to wait the same amount of time before they explode, so might as well kill all but one to give yourself a safety net :)
Trying to learn 1 tick alternating mage and ranged at inferno - using the tick counter overlay as you showed as well as number above head. I feel like it 'stutters' randomly throwing me off during a fight. Any advice on this, or alternating prayers in general?
Hmm does the game lag at all? The overlay flickers whenever a game tick goes by, so if the game lags slightly it will stutter. If you play with sounds, a tip you can use as well is when you activate a prayer once it plays the activation sound, you can swap prayers. So basically every time the activate sound plays you alternate to the other prayer and that should be on the same timing as well.
The visual metronome on the tile is the ultimate cheat code bro i had it over my character and above my invy and cant focus on it at all but the true tile is so nice cant wait to try this really smart ty good guide
Usually if you just start doing the cycle he will fall into place. If you need any extra help though can hop in game sometime and see how you do it and try to help

There should be a 4-tick butterfly in the tile packs. Use that. Doing 5-tick butterfly with a 4-tick weapon like trident is pointless. Just let akkha hit you a few times and switch to melee/ranged. As long as you have good melee/ranged weapon you'll kill the boss faster and thus use less supplies making up for the damage akkha caused.

Doesnt has to do with your learning, the game doesnt make sense what goes against your logic, even when you pray against noc you need to tick prayer before animation because the registration is after the tick you click, make sense right?
The only real issue with blowpiping it is you have to break the butterfly cycle. But in some invocations you basically have to do this otherwise you wont kill the shadow in time before the explosion. If you dont want to break the butterfly cycle though, what you can do is DPS skip. There's a way to completely skip the explosion attack. I'm thinking of making a video on this actually because it is useful in higher invocations!
The boss does make a noise when it swaps but I feel like the plugin could help learners. I totally recommend doing it without the plugin once u get the hang of it, but I put it in the video since it's aimed at learners!
