I thought at first the colour was too pale, but as you added bronzer and blush it looked just right. You can see it in daylight we’re just looking through the prism of the camera & screen. Really good finished result ❤
ELF satin foundation in the lovey square glass bottle with a pump, is $6 and so nice! I looked at that crummy little squeezy tube for this product and laughed...lol.
Thank you for sharing, I have rosacea, eczema and hormonal acne. I went on BC, that solved the acne for me. But I still have the redness, flushing, and most recently a severe flare. I also have an itchy face. Winter is very hard on our skin, going from heat to the cold. My skin was going nuts this last winter. I love Dr. Idriss, she has such great information and product recommendations. Yes, SPF everyday!!
Great review! I’ve been looking for a review of the alabaster shade. I don't know if it is just me, but the photos on the website for this shade are odd. I cannot tell the model's skin tone; the foundation looks not as good and less natural than the other models with different shades. Thanks for this :)
I haven’t tried enough drugstore foundations to have a definite favorite, but I think the True Match is a solid option. If you can afford to spend a little more I also like The Performer foundation from About Face. It’s available at Ulta.
Hi Audrey I'm a new subscriber, I enjoy getting makeup tips from RU-vid I'm 64 been weari ng makeup almost daily since I was 12... I love makeup! I love that I can't geek out on it constantly because of RU-vid and TikTok. I have/had rosacea in my late 30's to early 50's I have great skin now based on what I have learned in my own. I'm no longer sensitive and I do not have as much redness. As far as foundation that's my jam . I can use cool, neutral and olive undertone. I find the olive takes down the red and ruddyness. Of times if I get matched in store they want to give me peach and too light. I think you should try going darker it's the best thing we can do for older skin. I think you may want to try some fair olives. About face makes a nice one as does Estee lauder fair and light olives are hard to find but look amazing. Good luck with your channel. I'm enjoying it. Also I have dry skin but still love powder, I just make sure I use a more Dewey setting spray I use the L'Oréal in 3.5 and I'm really no much darker than you.
Wear notes: The impact of the green primer was more apparent in natural light (in a good way!) so I’ll definitely use it more. Overall the foundation held up well - up close things started to look dry and a bit patchy in the usual spots like the center of my forehead, but you’d really have to be looking for it to notice. Pretty good, especially for the price! If you have dry or mature skin I’d recommend this over the Elf satin foundation. I think the finish and wear are better overall, and the True Match foundation is more buildable without looking cakey.
Thank you for sharing your story. I have the vascular version of rosacea. I had three Vbeam laser treatments this spring and the redness is down considerably. I’m told I’ll probably need to do this once a year if I want to keep the flushing down.
So many good reminders about dehydration and the very real dangers of drinking too much water alone! I like to remind people to not wait until they’re thirsty to drink something. My dodgy nervous system don’t hold onto salt, so I really need those electrolytes!
I buy a few new things each season. Like a new gloss, lip stick or bronzer, or blush. If you over consume, you don't get to enjoy the product we already have.
Am 26 years old.It has been 6 months am suffering this . I also have itching.before my skin is clear no scar no acne.now full scar bumbs acne. Before my skin is dry.now my skin is dry same gime oily.am not going outside now .fully stressed.😢
Wear notes: this started to break up after a couple of hours, which isn’t necessarily a problem for a sunscreen, but the weird part is that it was oily in some places and dry in others. I suspect that it’s going to work best without any other skincare underneath. Also just want to reiterate that this is a very dewy finish!
I've seen other reviews from ladies with dry skin who didn't get along well with this foundation. I have oily, mature skin and absolutely love it. I reviewed it last week and did a side by side with the flawless satin foundation. Nearly identical. The new one was a little more blurring, I thought. I do think they are discontinuing that one. It was the only elf foundation I could wear prior to this release.
