Hey there! The name’s Orion and I’m just a Texan who loves to work on cars. This is my attempt to share my journey, create some content, and hopefully some that you’ll enjoy.
Looking solid! Keep going! You are doing well.. I'm in the same boat...i have a 68 mustang with 302 c4. I'll be doing most of the restoration myself. I'll be watching your work...I'm learning as i watch. Thank you!
As the owner of a beautiful 68 MUSTANG for 47 years, Im enjoying your restoration videos on this car.. fortunately, I live in Southern California, and the car was bought new here. Mine is totaly stock. 289, automatic, factory AC, power steering, has the optional hood with the turn signal indicators. White Vynil top, which I've replaced like 10 times lol. Light blue, and 2 tone blue interior. I bought it when I was 17. She's an early 68, 1st sold in December of 1967. Later builds got the 302. I'm very attached to it, I get quite a few offers from people who want to buy it, but I'll never let it go. I run it around town for errands a couple of times a month, and in the summer I drive it to the beach to stretch her legs, about 68 miles each way. Occasional car shows, a few years ago, some guy really wanted the car and offered me 20,000 for it. Lol I'm getting anxious to see the final product, and I think you're going to have a winner! 😊
@@johnfranklin5277 thank you for sharing…it’s absolutely amazing to hear everyone’s story with their cars. I can’t wait for my 68 to be done so I can do the exact same with it. I’d love to see some pictures of yours, you’re more than welcome to send it to my email if you want. Also, thank you for the support, brotha 💪🏼 orionsgarage@gmail.com
I recently saw a classic Mustang Coupe with 2 pieces of plexiglass guards over the hood vents to protect the dashboard from getting wet and rusted underneath. It was odd. But, it works.🤷♀️ I guess that's why they say to inspect underneath the dash especially on the passenger side before buying.🤔
Hey man. Digging this DIY. I just got a 68 too. You got a little luckier cause your was cheaper and with a 289. But we are in the same boat for the most part. My thing was running her with the inline six she has in her or tearing it down and starting over like you. I’m still debating but still digging your vids. Keep up the good work man.
@@Csgavilanes appreciate the support, brotha. Do whatever works for your budget. If you got the funds, it doesn’t take much to swap to a 289. I’d love to hear about the progress, so feel free to keep me posted. I can probably answer a lot of questions you might have too.
Those things that fell off of the driveshaft are the end caps on the universal joint and they are supposed to be able to slide off. You may want to consider replacing both the front and rear u-joints at this time since you are rebuilding the drivetrain. Inside those caps are needle bearings and you may have lost a few when the cap came off! When all of the needle bearings are in the cap there should be no space left between them. Good luck with your project!
@@ddelano7408 I was going to do some research but have yet to, so I appreciate you informing me! A few of the needle bearings did fall off so they’re definitely getting replaced.
