I've got a 1996 MAN Coach motorhome with an 8 speed manual. After 4th, you put the gearstick back to neutral, bring it towards you then you have 5 to 8. No splitter button. Can you do a video on this? Synchro box. Many thanks.
Well balanced video. It shows both the good and the bad sides of driving these vehicles. High levels of both pay and health and safety risks, including the biggest one of all - losing your life.
I hope I get an answer.. does the Scania 4 series also has this type of gearbox. 8 speed? Or it can only come with 12 speed.? And what about 8+1 ( crawler)
Hi yes Scania 4 series has exactly this same gear box 4 down 4 up but some old Mercedes trucks has the 8 and a crawler I uploaded a video up with a truck with straight 8 gears but I have not seen a scania with on of them before
How to downshift one gear for more power before overtaking? Just switch gear, give gas and release clutch simultaneously? No tapping, blipping and etc., just release clutch and give gas at the same time like on a car?
Is it worth getting the training just for the knowledge. Something to fall back on just in case. Does ADR permit expire if you don’t belong to a company. I know after 5 years it has to be renewed. I have Class 1 UK licence.
Yes is worth doing for better work and the income and ADR training can count for a maximum of 21 hours towards your Driver CPC training if sitting an initial course so if you have class 1 you might as well do it because you still going to spend money on CPC every 5 years and get nothing in return and you don’t have to be with a certain company is just an extra card like your tacho showing what classes of dangerous goods you can transport valid every 5 years
I wish manual cars get 7 and 8 gears. For that super efficiënt drive at 130km/h. And yes i know porsch and corvette had 7th. But those are waaay to expensif for the avarage person.
The switch is for selecting from low to higher gears for example 1 2 3 and 4 you have to have the switch down and 5 6 7 and 8 the switch has to be up 👍
