This is a great interview. He usually gives a good interview but this one shines. It's great to hear about his experience and his insights into the characters and plot.
What Erin, Brian Bird & Lindsey Sterman don't want to accept is that the breakup of Elizabeth & Lucas was done in a horrible & idiotic way. What a slap in the face to the fans. We are not stupid, we know people make mistakes, make wrong choices, etc. but to have a couple for 2+ yrs build a beautiful, loving relationship, work through differences, talk about future plans & declare love for each other all of a sudden, in one season, decide 'she' made a 'safe' choice, couldn't give her whole heart & had 'romantic' feelings for another man & THIS is suppose to make sense!?! And Lucas just accepts this because he wants Elizabeth to be happy!?! AND.... Elizabeth immediately starts looking at Nathan with googoo eyes & says 'Is it wrong to want to find LOVE again!?!'. So, the changes hurt the hearts of TL fans, knocked down with one punch to the gut mostly because of the HORRIBLE, INSENSITIVE writing of the story. Erin has said they're taking Elizabeth & Nathan's relationship slowly being thoughtful of TL fans, but damage has already been done with the thoughtlessness of Season 10 writings.
Very sad. Really feel dumped as a fan by TPTB. This story trajectory is NOTcredible and is hugely disappointing. The discussion re the kids reaction was disingenuous. Will follow Lucas story but I directly. I just can’t watch this new pairing.
All those love scenes, all those " i love yous," all those kissing scenes between Elizabeth and Lucas, the engagement, all wiped out with the break up,sad story. No Lori Loughlin, she's convicted of a crime ,she thinks she's above the law because she has money, shame
The new writer / show runner - just deleted the last 5 years in 3 mins . Also the actors should of never gave the interviews that Elizabeth and Lucas were OTP. It’s a huge problem for the network now if the ratings go down . Everyone will probably be out of a job if show gets cancelled. Over a person who just deleted 5 yrs worth of stories. The bridge , the library, Lucas mom getting her book published. All out the window.
A great interview. Love the Nathan and Elizabeth story finally happening as it should have in Season 8. I watched Seasons 8 and 9 but not happily. I know Lucas will find his great love as well at some point.
Up until that moment, Maddie seemed to be the lead in her relationship with Roderick. The weight of the decision hit her most visibly but not her brother. He had the children but that did not matter. This is speculation on my part but Maddie was the bad cop to Roderick’s Evil cop. They were rotten to the corp. the thing is he would have been able to sell the product under any campaign slogan; that was the deal.
Love this movie. The kind of movies that should be made everywhere. Not all the swearing and killing, because we know that doesn’t make a movie good. How you feel when a movie is over counts. You should feel good and this movie does that.
Such a great character. Takes a lot of talent to make a background character have such an impact on fans! What an accomplishment, especially with the many talented actors on this show. Wishing you continued success
