You probably know this, but for ppl that don’t you should always tie dye ur shirts BEFORE screen printing or doing heat transfers etc. I know some artists do this specifically to get the “worn” look tho. I’m personally not a fan. Nothing irritates me more than buying a shirt online that shows an excellent graphic and arrives looking like it’s been washed 500x. Lol😂if I wanted that version I would just walk to my closet thx. 😂 Glad to see you do the shibori. I have not done it in over a decade and after watching ur video I think I might. I’m a quilter. My big puppy just went through heat and just destroyed the bottom 1/4 of a white 100% king size sheet. Nesting. lol. About to make some lemonade outta my lemons. lol. And either some quilting fabric or a nightgown. Thx for the video. I’ve some bleach dyes, but I liked seeing ur video. And yes dyes can cause a massive and very severe allergic reaction. I am in fact very allergic as in I have to have a lot of meds made by a compounding pharmacy so no dyes are in them. I wear protective gear. Been allergic since I was a kid. Btw- idk if they still do, but years ago formaldehyde was used as sizing in clothes which is why they tell you to always wash them first. The sizing/starch allows the pattern maker to cut out the patterns easier and the seamstress to see them easier. My mom made most of my clothes as a kid due to my severe allergies. Please wear gloves and a mask and work in a well ventilated area. At the very least put a fan in your window backwards to suck, out the fumes. I usually have one fan bringing in clean air and another sucking out the bad. I work with acrylic and paints too so safety first. And yes right in the middle of winter w a heater going by my acrylic and a thermometer so I know I’m keeping it warm enough for my acrylics to set. I love crafting, but it’s not worth dying over. PS. Dawn dishwashing liquid says - do not mix w bleach bc it has ammonia in it to boost the cleaning power. That’s why it dries ur hands out if you don’t wear gloves and use lotion immediately after using it. Take care of ur hands.
Simple way to split embroidery threads are to tap the cut end to separate the threads. Grasp one thread with fingers holding the other 5 with the other hand. Pull straight up. It will tangle the other threads but they will straighten when the first one is out. Simple trick.
He’s ADHD and if he doesn’t stop the impulse buying and living in fantasy of what he’s going to do, he’s going to end up a hoarder. “I’m going to….” means he hasn’t done anything. He can see potential in stuff but is unable to manage his time well enough to actually get anything done. Hopefully you can help him. If not, it’s only going to get worse.
ooo all you guys' ideas looked so cool! kinda got me thinking of other related things like - have you seen astronomical rings before? have to take them off to twist them around but still v cool! also slightly different but there are these specific ladybird fob watches that have a button u press on the top and the 2 wings part to show the watch! just another idea that could work for a cool hidden design ring. great stuff guys!
oh i feel ur pain w the slow sewing 😭 ive been sewing the same tiny lil paw of a critter im making for like a week now 💀 but the struggle will all be worth it in the end! excited to see what your friend will do with this!

Hate seeing the stress of expensive house fixes! Have you ever thought of flipping furniture that you can find free or cheap? It's not super artistic but it could still be creative and it seems like people can make a pretty good profit off the flip!
If Shmood became... Almost like a gallery owner... connecting with, supporting, and curating a lot of artists, and ended up feeling unstressfully fulfilled and also being a financial success... that would be great.
You spent way too much time on bleaching and sewing over the yellow. Esp. as it’s going to be deconstructed and flipped. And an artist spent a lot of time and love making that quilt. You should only repurpose commercial products.
there's also a lot of quilters who, if that was a quilt they made, wouldn't care that he's covering up the yellow and repurposing their work. _they_ might have even been the one to donate it to the thrift store bc they didn't like it. ((not disagreeing with the implications that some people/quilters would be upset. just wanted to say that not everyone would be like that though. ))
You know thats a lot if money for your plumbing issue. And you are a very smart young guy , id bet $ that you could save yourself a lot of money if you researched the issue and fixed it yourself . Thing is being a hom owner things break all the time why not fill your head with the knowhow for future use . My husband had to learn that suff cuz we could never afford it . 😊😊
iPhone when doing this process with the cornstarch it's better to mix in the food coloring to the silicone thoroughly before popping into a bowl of cornstarch. Just comes out cleaner and overall better but do it as you wish. Just trying to help.
Did you have any issue with the tiles/grout cracking? Looking to tile a wooden table as well and I can’t figure out if I should use regular adhesive/grout as every thread I find talks about the wood expanding over time
