Thanks for the review. I own this bag, so I wanted to share a few user insights. There’s a grab tab under the bottom pocket that you can use to easily pull the bag in and out of the car when holding it horizontally. The cover fits well when you position the zipper toward the back. Jumbo grips do fit in the bag-I have them on two hybrids and use the middle 'woods' slots for those clubs. However, the grips don’t lock into place at the bottom. I also have Garmin sensors on my clubs, and they sometimes get caught in the bottom grab mechanism. You can fish them out through the inner zipper, but I find it easier not to push the clubs all the way in, which also makes them easier to remove. The rubber side supports help keep the clubs quiet, though. Overall, I’m really happy with the bag. However, I wish it had a few more loops for items like a towel, rangefinder, brush, or water bottle. Having only one loop isn’t very convenient.
Taken my 4 hybrid out and put in a 7 wood so now have 3,5&7 woods in the bag then 5 hybrid, 5 iron down….. love the height and playability of the 7 wood but so far, I’m maybe down in distance from the 4 hybrid. Will stick with it and see how it goes.
Could be a good change, sometimes less distance is a good thing if it fits a better distance gap, but until you test these things, you don't know so you're definitely doing the right thing
Loved the look and feel of the 360 tours but they’re just too narrow like the majority of the golf shoes out there. I think I’m settling on the FJ hyperflex spiked
Thank you for this video. I'm getting close to pulling the trigger. Just looking at the club sets (Callaway XR and the Fly XL), taking price and components out of the equation, would you say one has a slight advantage over the other? Thanks!
Personally, if price is out of the equation, I'd lean towards the XR set. XR was the premium Callaway range for a while whereas the Fly XL set has always been a great performing set at a good value price point so may not quite have the same R&D behind it. The fact there are a couple more clubs and things like the headcovers and bag feel a bit more premium too are also a bonus
45/50/56/60. I’ve been chipping with an 8 or PW lately and have pondered dropping the 60 and adding a tee club. My biggest struggle after driver, I don’t feel confident until I get to 5 iron. I struggle with my 4 wood, 3 hybrid, and 4 utility iron….
That could be a good move. We've got a few tips to get the most out of your hybrids/woods if you want to check them out! The biggest thing we see is too many people addressing them like a driver, with a super shallow angle of attack, almost like trying to hit them on the up, rather than moving the ball position slightly back and hitting down on them more like a mid-long iron. The only thing I'd be careful of when getting rid of your highest wedge is making sure you can still manipulate those "emergency" escape shots like a flop shot when short sided etc with the wedges you still have.
@@GolfShopOnline that’s great advice, thank you. My struggle is a negative AOA with driver and I’ve been trying so hard to improve and I have. The days I hit it well, I struggle with my other clubs. My strength by far is my short game. I’m decent with my 60 but didn’t use it at all during a scramble yesterday.
Got any advice for very hard greens that definitely DO NOT have friendly areas around them like a lot of the links courses I've seen on RU-vid? I'm trying to get a little more aggressive hitting full wedges into greens rather than take the risk of running shots up with a soft iron. Even a really well struck 52° that I opened slightly, came down with snow on it. Left a pitch mark about 1/4 - 1/3 ball depth and STILL chased out over 8 yards, off the green.
You tend to find links courses will have slightly slower greens than other styles of course to try and compensate for the firmness, slopes and possible extreme conditions, but this isn't always the case, particularly in the height of summer or frosts in mid-winter, in rare and extreme cases. Unfortunately, while more spin and height definitely helps, this places more emphasis on your targets into these greens. The first thing to consider is that naturally, in competition, the course will play more difficult when the greens are like this, and scores will be higher, placing much more focus on damage limitation rather than attacking pins to try and make some low scores. Getting even more conservative with your targets, ignoring the pins and dialling in on the middle or largest portions of greens will give you the odd birdie look, but more importantly, make two-putt pars much easier and big numbers, caused by missing in the wrong place, much more unlikely.
Use a couple of super hybrids, no fairways woods...3@18* and 5@23*, same concept. Also because I find I use these clubs more often during a round (e.g. also to long par threes, into long par fours) I get more consistent with them.
Hi Mark, I think it’d be interesting, if you could get your hands on some, compare the Left Dot to the current Pro V1. I’ve heard that Titleist had incorporated tech from the left dot into the current model. Would love to see the data and see how true that is.
