I make talking head videos about science, nature, art, books, creativity and beauty; where two or more of those topics interconnect is my happy place! For example, I am a physician who runs a research lab, but in my spare time I create abstract paintings in my makeshift corner bedroom studio that are heavily influenced by science, math and buddhism. I collect sparkly fine minerals that are the perfect union of chemistry and art, but also enjoy sparkly jewelry, a shiny pair of shoes or sparkly eyeshadows.
Ultimately, I aim to lead a happy and fulfilling life through pursuit of my many interests. I hope you’ll join me as I navigate ways to live my best life and hopefully inspire you to do the same.

Good decisions. I usually check Mercari first if im looking for makeup. Those hourglass palettes will probably go quick, I have the same two and bought them on Mercari.
I think you made good decisions. It's smart to keep things around in case you change your mind! You have a really nice collection. I think next time I get blushes or bronzers I'm going to go high end/luxury. The packaging is so much nicer! So it seems worth it.
I rarely comment anymore but I had to come tell you I’ve really been enjoying your content. A lovely comfort watch for me. You have a beautiful collection and made very sound decisions! 😊
Finding the right concealer has been a struggle for me. Kosas was such a disappointment. All the shades look yellow and the creasing was intolerable. Finally found a winner with the Natasha Denona concealer.
I'm just so impressed and inspired by you and all that you've accomplished. And I also thank you for the research that you've done. I love your videos. I wish you all the best in whatever you chose to do :)
Saving the distance with your accomplishments, I share many of your feelings. Took 6 months sabbatical few years ago and it was greatest time for me and my family together. Now planning also early retirement after I get financial independence in a couple of years. Go for it, you will not regret.
This was SUCH a a fun update Chris!! Lots of plot twists!! I also had a plot twist in my update this month!! Great choices for the prompts you received!! 🫶🏻
Oh my goodness, I love the clip of Maisy at the end! She is adorable!! I haven't attempted any sort of pan that palette because I know I'd get bored and want to change my goals every update 😆 It's something I want to do at some point though, maybe behind the scenes lol.
You're doing great!! Exciting that you finished the NYX lip oil, I need to use mine more. I totally get that feeling of accomplishment when finishing up a makeup product, it's so satisfying ☺️
Nebulous plans are my favorite plans. Great video. Love the appearance of Mazzie at the end of the video! She looks happy and sassy after her spa visit. What a cutie! Have fun on vacation😊
The shimmer is so pretty! I had a small eyeshadow palette in my project pan, but decided I’m going to rotate through palettes each month instead. Ohh I hadn’t heard of the level up rules, that’s a fun idea
Amazing 👏👏👏 so many empties! lol it does feel like an accomplishment to finish products! I’m trying to focus more on panning and less on shopping for makeup lol
Your videos enspire me to shop my stash. I start January 1st through December 31. It's amazing how much I actually go through. I have a basket I keep through the year to keep track of what has been brought in and how much has been used up.
Watching your videos inspired me to start using my makeup again. I haven't been in the mood for it since my dad died, but this month I started a project to use my eyeshadow palettes. 1 palette per week, thinking about not using the same colors all the time, even the small ones. I made my list so I wouldn't have to think about it every week and I was surprised to see how many palettes I have, but I liked finding a way to make the makeup looks different with the same palette.
I have the Merry Hall trilogy sitting on my bookshelf. I can't wait to get to it! I haven't heard a bad thing about it yet. Your reaction to the Hunger Games pick made me laugh, I wouldn't have been enthused with that choice either😅😂😂
I am so happy that you enjoyed Frankenstein! It is such a treasure. I finished Wuthering Heights and am not sure how I feel about it. Definitely different than Charlotte’s Jane Eyre, which is my favorite novel. Looking forward to your review.
Treasure is the right word for it, I definitely want to read it again. Now reading Dracula and love that one too. More horror and less introspective but great nonetheless. I am having a great reading year!
I always love your SMS videos. You kept me company while I washed my makeup brushes 😊 And yes, the amount of highlighter in that Chanel one is excessive haha.
I couldn’t stop giggling at the mention of that rude little boy again. Thank goodness the Chanel blush saved the day😊 Am currently away for a long weekend and found myself at a Chanel counter-even though I’m supposed to be on a low buy. Sigh. Chanel is one of my guilty pleasures. I’m not sure if I could part with the highlighter. Then again, it could make room for something else😉
Exploratory phase. I do miss my what now know as minimalistic times. Love the data you collected❤ I also have unused eye shadow pallets. I am on a no- low buy in this category for this very reason. I set up rules as well. I decided to be intentional, established priority brands, and adding items unique to my collection and or add value, Lastly, I really do try to justify (one out one in).
For me now I only really want to wear PmG, my Mario palette and a few others. I am kind of burned out on makeup and trying to use everything up. This year I’ll likely break even with the in/out approach. Next year will pare down to a more reasonable size number of items.
I stumbled upon your video as I have just decided to ditch the dye. A rather challenging stage, but am getting so much support from all videos I am watching. Christine, you are brave and you are very beautiful!! I love how you have embraced and shared your journey. I hope I can do half as well. 🤗🥰
I also treat my PM pallets as precious. That’s my going out fancy pallets lol. Omg the 6 pan pallet is stunning ! I have that one also. Alicia always sells me something as well! I really need to pick up PM bronze quad. Love the DM groundwork’s pallet love I use it EVERYDAY!
Great additions! I added 3 pallets to my collection this year. From the girl that only wears neutrals. Over all I’ve added about 25 items which includes makeup, 😅body care, skin care and perfumes. If I had to guess. I stopped keeping an official inventory. However, I’m more intentional about my purchases. I keep a mental note of new purchases, low/ no buys. I created a wish list ( Chanel , Dior, makeup by Mario, Nest NY, Fenty, DM, PM, CT, ND) and pick up a product or two to buy sporadically. I’m still going on strong my project pan! And have amassed several empties! I’m also getting some good rotation on my products. I was doing a weekly make up bag/ tray whatever you wanna call. That unfortunately did not last. I like variety and like to switch it up. But I’m super happy with my usage and ability to show all products love! I’m very intentional about that. My wish lists def makes me nervous and would put me wellll outside my low buy. I’ve been resisting the temptation so far. I’ll likely cave around my birthday and treat myself. Then again during the Sephora sale. At that point someone will need to send help😂
Same here, I like bronzer as eyeshadow but I still cave to a pretty palette. I work from home a lot so those are the days I wear more makeup since no one sees but me
Beautiful additions to your collection! I was totally out of control in my makeup spending a few years ago, then reached the saturation point last year. I’ve purchased 2 eyeshadow palettes this year. Like you, I’m trying to be more mindful in my purchases. Doesn’t always work, but that’s okay too. You look beautiful! And far younger looking than your chronological age😊
Oh my gosh, thank you for the shout out and for all your kind words! 🥹 I'm so glad you enjoyed that video! That Extravaganza palette would definitely make a gorgeous futuristic femme fatale look. That is a stunning palette!! You added so many gorgeous palettes to your collection, wow! It looks like you brought in so many amazing makeup goodies! 😍😍 You definitely don't look anywhere close to 70 btw, I'm pretty sure you already know that but I just wanted to let you know lol. You look more like you're in your early 40s. In fact when you mentioned being in menopause in previous videos I was surprised. Anyway, thanks for sharing all the makeup goodies you got!
I’ve been tallying up all my makeup purchases too to keep myself accountable too. I used to buy things when I was sad to treat myself back in 2020, now I try to think things through a bit more before purchasing, but I still totally use makeup “researching” to escape reality. Awww I’m so sorry about the kid being rude 🥲 you’re beautiful! I was at the hospital with my sister (26) who had just given birth, the nurse asked me if I was the grandma… I’m 29 lol. I had a mask, so I brushed it off but yeah haha
I loved this! You kept me company while I did my makeup. I wasn't really interested in watching Poor Things but now I am 😆 I definitely need to check out Willow Smith now. Also, my husband and I love "What We do in the Shadows," it's one of our favorites!
Yay!! I love the update and I LOVE that Chantecaille as an eye shade! I was interested in getting that 3s a crowd, what a fun prompt! My cards weren’t nearlly as interesting. This video cracked me up so much! Oh the struggle! Lol
Wow, what a vlog! There was so much variety in the content-books, movies, a manuscript revision, a meal delivery mishap, an adorable dog, and a moment of sadness. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I’d like to see the movie and read the novel Poor Things. I watched a BookTuber who read it alongside Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein and had insightful comparisons. Ever since reading Frankenstein, I can’t stop thinking about it.
