Why so much sentiment against people using bicycles? I'm 15, i can't drive a car and nor often times get a lift if I want to visit the nearby spot for fishing.
Sadly we are still stuck in the whole car culture in the UK. Car is king because all the roads and routes between urban areas are designed for them in mind. I mean do we need 5/6 different roads to get to the same destination? Isn't it time to restrict road space especially in residential areas to cyclists and dare I say it e-scooters.
Great questions, which are still applicable 10 years later. My local council has only just accepted feedback on its Local cycling and Walking plan. That is to give an idea of what are the primary and secondary routes from my town to the next biggest town. Who knows when they will implement a proper protected cycling infrastructure which makes sense from a cyclist's POV instead of this haphazard nonsensical bikes lanes we have at the moment which forces the cyclist to make too many decisions for the sake of their own safety.
Bahaha cyclists dont obey road rules 😂 they choose what they want. Red light.....no thanks, give turn signals.......hmmm nope, give way.....yeah no thats keep that one 😂😂😂 but they will claim VICTIM at any given moment 😂😂😂 cyclists are the most entitled road users EVER, imagin skateboarders started flooding the streets holding up cyclists, omg it would be world war 3 😂😂😂
GCSE’s , A levels, diplomas, degree…..all were a doddle compared with the angst at the age of 9 passing my Cycling Proficiency Test. One of my life’s greatest achievements. Cycling has literally saved my life. We were taught to use straight arm turning signals.
I prefer the full outstretched arm when signalling, and general point my finger too as it should leave drivers behind in no doubt about your planned manoeuvre.
2:41:55 Wow, that pass on that attack could have easily taken the two teammates out of the race but they luckily made it through unscathed. Big yikes! Great composure by both riders.
Askey went far too early, whereas Haytor stayed controlled and won easily. Just tactical naivety. Why don't the commentators spot these things? I do wish that the commentators would comment on the tactics, rather than simply describing what is happening (which we can see ourselves).
TERRIBLE job of showing the current telemetry!!!! The UK does not know how the rest of the world does bike races?? HOW MUCH is left?? WHAT ARE THE GAPS????
How can you not respect FDJ as a sponsor? Weathered so many years without results, stayed true, and now, supporting so many great young cyclists. I hope they get a grand tour soon.
Such a fast circuit in Darlington, absolutely relentless. Crowds done the area proud and what a fabulous evening! Fingers crossed it will be back again! 🤞
so glad vollering is leaving stupid unprofessional sd worx (remember danny stam in last year's tour de france outburst?). if only reusser could leave with her.
Would like to know what the competitors thought of that last stage. Being a local guy I was able to walk to the end of the road where I live to watch. And whilst the weather wasn't the best I felt it was a great spectacle - we also had the mens race a few years ago.
@@jasonjohnson9072 It was up to Wiebes to be on Kopecky's tail. If she couldn't keep up then the World Champion should have nailed it. She surely would have won the stage. And yet another case of premature celebration. There have been one or two this year. When will people learn?
Sorry to say it but the whole event was an embarassment, only 2 world tour teams??. What was this team Gb crap, since when have they been a world tour team?. The sad fact is nobody was interested ( i was) but youd be hard pressed to find any info about the event in the MSM, it was a joke. Then to have some toerag steal a whole teams bikes, well thats GB for you, no wonder they dont come over, its not worth it, poor standard, sd works sent the reserves almost, and still won it!! They took pity on Lizzie and said ok, you can have the QOM (worthless)......what a joke.
Team bikes get stolen in Europe, too. Well, that's Europe for you, eh? And I don't think Lotte would be too pleased to be called a reserve. Very ignorant comments, although you did correctly identify yourself as a nobody - "nobody was interested (I was)". 🙂
