The many comments of 'bugs' is surprising in the commentary. The video is taped in an open air situation. Each country has its own species of insects. They do vary, and living in hot/cold countries does produce different specie.
Thank you for this great video. Can you tell me what you thought of the actual land tours when you stopped at the destinations. Did you feel they were quality. We have traveled on Avalon and really enjoyed their tours, but we are considering Uniworld for another river cruise. The ship looks beautiful but do the tours compare? Thank you.
I looked for your Christmas market cruise adventure but no videos found?? Did it go well? Would you do that cruise again? I’m hoping you were immersed in your journey and enjoying your river cruise, hopefully it was not disappointing! There are not a lot of Uniworld reviews on yo7 tube, was looking forward to yours. Cheers!
First cruise ever coming up in January! Loved your video, but I have a question about ironing. What do you do? Do you only take clothes that are wrinkle free? I know you can’t bring an iron, but can you request one to use for a specific time frame? Do you send your items to laundry? Thank you for any advice.
Thanks for this informative video. We'll be cruising on the SS Maria Theresa in August. In your detailed video of the stateroom, I didn't notice your luggage. Is there room under the bed to stash suitcases? Thanks!
I went Oct 7 2021. On the way back to Seattle we had hurricane force winds. Weren't allowed on balconies or open decks. The ship was listing and lots of people getting sick. Very glad i had my patch.
We did this cruise a couple years ago and it was amazing. It was my second with Avalon. I am doing my third with them in June 2024. Vietnam will always be my favorite no matter what cruise I do in the future.
My sister and i arecruising on viking from amsterdam to basil. It will be November so I’m sure somewhat cool .. looking for ideas. Thanks didn’t know if i need boots etc..
We are doing a 7 Day Alaska this May. With a Carry-On ONLY and a Backpack. Airports seem to lose stuff often and I'm not dealing with Airport Checked Luggage issues nor do I want to.
@SmartCruiser did you do laundry on your cruise? I'm planning to pack mostly long sleeves with a few short sleeves which will double as gym clothes and then a couple of hoodies (not to mention outer wear). I will also need some nicer tops for dinner. I usually like to wear dresses to dinner on cruises, but I hear most people wear jeans and nice tops in Alaska.
@@HappilyEverNovak I didn't! However, my last 2 cruises, I did and liked having my laundry done. Yeah you definitely don't need to overdo dinner outfits for Alaska. I was in my leggings, hiking boots, and a sweater most evenings- and so were others haha!
I usually pack "hard/bumpy" things (shoes, hair appliances, etc.) on the side of the suitcase with the channels for the handle so the flat side of the suitcase is available for clothing that I want to minimize wrinkling. I tuck small soft items (gloves, beanies, socks) in among the shoes/bumpy things to level the surface.
Wear your heaviest clothing items (boots & rain jacket/coat) on the plane to free up your luggage. Be mindful to include a change of clothes in your carry-on or personal item in case your checked luggage does not arrive with you. Pad the bottom of your carry-on to cushion any breakables. Stuff any shoes (or small spaces) to avoid wasted space.
The liquids in the carry on bag needed to be in a tsa approved bag also. All the things I don’t want lost if my suitcase doesn’t show up go in my carry on too…….like the hair straightener!
Going end of May for first cruise! We're also doing Denali. This video has given me excellent info! My husband and I are planning on each packing a checked and carry-on.
I thought oh my god that is a huge workout room, and then I realize it’s just two treadmills in a mirrored room! Lol still better than the other one though! Lol
Going on my first Alaska cruise this May! It looks like this cruise is going to be a lot more casual than I was originally thinking. I will for sure pair down my evening looks.
@@smart_cruiser good advice! See originally I was going to bring 2 formal dresses, and then 4 nice but not formal dresses or skirts. I will definitely pair that back.
