The critical time of the year that I feel the need to augment their diet is in the Winter, and especially after a snowfall. But also feed them in the Summer, but on a reduced schedule, as I enjoy seeing them around the house. They also like some fruit.
I have several foxes I feed every 2nd or 3rd day, as i don’t want them to get too dependent on me…the diet consists of eggs, cheese, peanuts (in their shells), apples, and both dry and wet dog food. I rotate through different menus. The dry dog food is high quality, and exactly the same as I feed my dog.
"He" is obviously a she, and a nursing mother - you can see her teats. And there's nothing wrong with her coat, they moult from about May onwards and their coats always look patchy through the summer - they grow beautiful again in the autumn; on top of that, it's hard work being a fox mum, they get pretty run down, but they recover once the cubs stop taking milk.
