Just a small farm located in Minnesota. We will post all sorts of different things about the farm and about our animals here! We are just getting started with our channel! Just started this fall 2020 recording all of our farm videos hope you enjoy them! We mostly do video on Boer goats that’s the main thing we do at the farm is hang out with the goats!
I did this then went to a pvc pipe that’s packed full of pillow stuffing muzzle loader style (from the removable capped end) the threaded cap has 1/4” holes in it like a sprinkler and before putting the stuffing in I put a wiggle ball in it with a small rope attached to pull the stuffing out to replace it. The other end has a fitting for a hose and I use that while filling the pool. Works the same just cuts a day or two out of the process
You should add a supply list in your video description because you're not explaining the stuff that you're using and the stuff that's already came with the pool
That was AMAZING!!! Thank u-4 sharing. I would like to know is there away I can have this indoors without that bad smell. My main thing is that I just want to catch the flys that come indoors. Not so much the outdoors. I know they have to live SOMEWHERE, I just don't want them to live with me. Nore do I want the bad small.🤔
I'd say go for it. Just figure how to way to secure it so it does not knock over and as far as the smell, If there is a smell? Just experim& see how it goes.
Great idea. However I very much like the way she did it for the video because it made it much easier to fully see EVERYTHING that was being shown without too many other changes. EVERYTHING was FULLY CLEAR. But if not doing a video, your idea is also AWESOME. Thank u-4 sharing. 🥰
We don’t need our landfills getting filled up with plastic bags over this. You dig a hole with a shovel and you dump that bucket a dead flies in that hole and then you cover it up that’s how you dispose of that bucket tip of the dig a hole don’t throw it in the trash because you’ll have maggots in your trash.
They also have a very large consignment auction the Saturday of Memorial Day and Labor Day Weekends. These sales include furniture, quilts, horse related items, horse drawn machinery, etc.
Would the Labor Day weekend happen to land on the 31st this year? I want to make sure I get the date right so I don’t drive all the way there on the wrong day 😂
The big tubs of pork rinds or cheese puffs are perfect to repurpose. And you get to eat the pork rinds and cheese puffs as a by product. (So to speak;) Oh, and I use dog poop and an egg as bait. It's organic, renewable, non GMO, and gluten free.
I just bought the reusable container from same brand but it’s too small after seeing all that many flies getting attracted to it, I have never used them before cause I never had a fly issue as this year it’s been horrible, I don’t have any farm animals but flies are getting inside my house every time we open the doors. Thank you for posting this video I’m going to try it. Just one question, does it have to be protected from rain ?
We did hook up the hose and it did not work also we have a water softener but unfortunately the outside hose water comes straight from the well not through out water softener
@@mickelsonfamilyhomestead ya i have some that are soft water some that are straight from the well but i honestly didn't think about hooking the bucket to the hose for filling until it was too late but i did for refilling seemed to work for me
This is seriously a life saver to do before actually buying the pool!! Would it be ok to do it while the pool is filling? & also would the bucket filter need to be consistently on? :) Thank you so much!
We did hook up the hose to the bucket while it was filling and it did not help so its best to filter it after the pool is full we leave the bucket on 24/7
@@mickelsonfamilyhomesteadhi! Just wanted to ask we have a intex 18ft round pool would we need to know the filters hose size before buying all the parts? Or would the ones you recommend fit?
Thanks guy, im new to well water so its been a change of pace for me, wasnt sure how i was gonna get my pool cleaned until i came across your video...thanks guys it helped alot
Once it starts I change it every 24 hours until it’s clear and then I change the stuffing after I put more water in the pool usually because the water level going down from it being hot or the kids splashing all the water out lol!
I have two questions. My pool is already full and extremely murky looking well this work and also I feel like it's a no-brainer but do you happen to have how to your pole hose to your bucket? What did you use to make sure it wasn't leaking
OK, so I ended up using the drain stop that you put in your sink. I just took the lock and plug out of it and that actually worked really good. Going on day number 2 almost there but still not clear
@@mickelsonfamilyhomestead also after I'm done filter well water do I still have to use the 5g bucket or can o just go back to hook up pump the way it's supposed to be?
@@danataylor2108 we keep the bucket filter on just because you end up adding more water to your pool over time from condensation and kids splashing all the water out lol
I just did this myself, the water that comes out of your filter and is going back into your pool, you disconnect it from you pool and hook it up to the bucket that drains back into your pool. I used my step ladder with a piece of board on it to have the bucket sit on. It really does work just takes some time. I just got my 1 year old a 12 foot round 30 inch deep Intex pool for his first bday and it took me around 24 hours to clear the water up. Helpful tip I stopped it about every 4 hours and cleaned the filter off, I did have to move the bucket to the ground while doing this or you'll start draining the iron in the bucket back into the pool. It's also a good time to drain out the bucket and hook your filter back up, let it run for a min before sitting back up bc it will also push out some iron upon starting back up..hope this helped some good luck
Save yourself the trouble and buy the Hayward Bobby filter that connects to the end of your hose fitting. It’s a 5 micron filter that works wonders. Great for filling pool and topping off. I live in Michigan and have well water with iron like yours. I use one every year and have never been disappointed. Get the 20” and thank me later
One more thing. I went to Walmart for the stuffing and it was cheaper to buy pillows (on sale, $4) than bags of it. My in-ground pool holds 20,000 gallons and I used two pillows. 48 hours from not being able to see the drain in the deep end to crystal clear. Amazing!
Great idea and it works. It occurred to me that it would be a better idea to rig the bucket with a hose thread fitting and filter the incoming well water before it gets in the pool. Otherwise you still have sediment that settles on the pool floor. You either have to vacuum that out or keep sweeping it and stir it into the water and keep the filter going and repeat until it’s clear. Makes more sense to stop it at the source.
According to a water test kit I bought, my well water shows 0 lead, 0 iron. And my pool is salt water system. Will I still need to filter the water? I plan to start filling in 2 days...
Aren't u afraid of draining your well we r in the country n also on a well system but call in a water truck bc were worried we'd drain, dry up the well?!
We have been doing this method for a week, changing the batting every 24 hours and it's not working. Our pool is still brown and nasty. We're using chlorine and baking soda for the pool. Didn't work for us. We now have to drain it and fill it with fresh water
Last year I tried it using their bags, it quickly filled up with flies and maggots. meaing they are breeding in the bags. So I added some dish soap to the water which killed everything. I love your idea.
Do u keep the bucket attatched 24/7 or u remove n just use the filter it came with every day once its clear?? And any chemicals u use im gettin a best way 12ft and have well water never had a pool before and scared it will dry my WELL out filling it
Hey i have had heating bulbs shatter i dont know why but its happened....so im switched to dog house heaters they work great go on the wall has a thermostat....also u can use a heating pad which is way better because the heat stays in the straw or hay making a super comfortable bed and better in extreme cold
