I got an old (99 plate) GSX750F, surprises quite a few others with how quick it is for an oldie. Top speed is not the be all and end all, handling is king… 👍
@@WinstonAbebrese nice bikes, I’ve had several over the years and to be honest I’m a Honda fan myself but they (Honda) just didn’t have what I was looking for, I’ve gotten to old for all this head down/arse up stuff now and I find the gsxf far more comfortable with a far more usable motor in the mid range. 👍
Big commercial vehicles turn wide around corners, because we're trained to do that, from vans and wrecker trucks to dump trucks and 18 wheelers. Some of us get lucky and never have an accident, and if it's a person who isn't very smart, they stop paying close attention, they start using their turn signal at the last second like this van did, they start changing lanes before actually looking behind them in their side mirror, they stop caring about maintaining a better awareness of the vehicles around them than regular drivers, they forget that they are held to a higher standard with that CDL, they don't think about how they could lose their job and their freedom in a single second from one seemingly insignificant bad decision that turns into a preventable accident. You obviously don't have the training a CDL driver does, and honestly as a trucker my eyes would've been on you way earlier and expecting you as a biker on a sport bike to do something bone headed - no offense. It's the way a good driver with a CDL thinks all the time. This guy had it coming, and now you know to think ahead, put yourself in other driver's shoes, and try to predict the least smart choice that they could make, because they probably will and it'll save you.
Someone tried squeezing in next to me when I was off to the side at a red light, but another person in a different car defended me to my surprise lol It was unexpectedly heartwarming. They were like, "NUH UHHH BRO STAY BACK STAY BACK" lol It's those little moments for me. He just kept trying to inch forward but I ended up passing him anyways. Turned out the guy who defended was also an avid rider himself.
Simple way to describe it and im butchering it slightly is both spark plugs fire at the same time. When one cylinder is on power stroke the other is on exhaust stroke. The excess unburned fuel in the exhaust stroke it getting lit hence the iconic potato potato potato sound. Fortnine has a great video explaining this in depth
Most of them in the states sound like absolutely dog shit with an old guy with a cigarette in his mouth wearing nothing but shorts and an American flag tank top.
Hope you are OK. I got knocked off last monday. Have a broken thumb and bruised ribs. Waiting for surgery on my thumb. And I hope the bike can be fixed.
