I just love Anuna. They are the best vocal choir in the world by a mile. So enduring, beautiful, professional harmonies. Every for, action and album are simply great.
You probably know that he announced before Christmas that Anúna wouldn't be working in Ireland anymore. I assume that was an explicit comment about his work. I didn't hear any more about it though. Either way he isn't present in any of the music circles I know of here.
The lake lay blue below the hill O'er it, as I looked, there flew Across the waters, cold and still A bird whose wings were palest blue The sky above was blue at last The sky beneath me blue in blue A moment, ere the bird had passed It caught his image as he flew
I was a kid growing up in Nigeria in the 2000s and I watched the old school Looney Tunes (yes, the uncensored and funny ones) on cable and frequently saw the piano bomb joke and that was where I first saw this song referenced and only today did I finally find the original song and it is truly beautiful.
I was just wondering how this gorgeous, emotional tune found its way into a joke and is now, I think, mostly remembered for that. So glad to have Michael's performance.
@@merri-toddwebster2473 - I watched many original Loony Tunes cartoons in my youth and when I grew up and became acquainted with classic music I was surprised at how those old cartoons were using such music. Perhaps because the copyrights had expired?
Recently a friend of mine who is trained in opera mentioned this song and I said I recalled it from my days in primary school in the early 60s. i often hum it and sang it to my children at bedtime among the bedtime stories and "singalongs" many years ago when they were just tiny things. She humourously "dared" me to sing it, so I did. Seems I sing it with an Irish accent and I've had the words fairly right from way back then. I'm sure I was taught "fade" instead of "change" though.
Magnificent - every detail. Full marks to all concerned - arrangement, performance and recording. Would have loved to hear this from the audience. Great work by everyone!
