Cool version and nice playing. Might like an overhead or higher view shot to see what you're playing. Also, comment on the bridge arpeggio. You're playing a pattern with 3-4-5-1 (F#-G-A-D), which is slightly different than the recording which is more like x-A-C#-D where x is maybe a G on the first 4 chord, maybe an E on the second 5 chord, and maybe a D or F# on the 3rd and 4th chord (6-minor to the 1/3). Recording also changes up the pattern a bit sometimes. Both sound good /musical and nice to hear some different takes on it.

What fabulous improvising! You are very talented...I really enjoyed this. Improvisation has never been my strong point but I'm working on it. You have inspired me!
If I remember correctly I layered a sound on the Montage called Seattle Strings with another string sound on Omnisphere called Adiago Warm Strings and on the Juno Ds I used D-50 stack which is a bell sound and the lead sound is PeakArpSine. I don’t remember what the sweeping sound is but I sampled it from omnisphere.
As someone that has been playing live piano/keys for worship for years, this is by far one of the best interpretations and intentional chord voicings I have heard for a worship song! Watching this actually made me take lessons so that I can play more in this improvised/jazz style! :)
Thanks for watching 😊. The reasoning behind it originally being notated in the key of Bb is because I originally created a play through of the Cody Carnes version which is in Bb and then the live version came out so I decided to upload a cover of the live version instead and forgot to change the key to Db. I liked this take of the song so I decided to keep that minor inaccuracy in.
I use the Zoom LiveTrak L-12 as an audio interface and Logic Pro X to record the sounds from my boards. Sometimes I use omnisphere or keyscape as well. It depends on what I’m going for.
Thanks for watching 💛. Although keyscape has some amazing sounds, the piano sound you’re hearing is actually from the Yamaha Montage itself, it’s called the S700 for Montage.
Thanks for watching I appreciate the support 🤙🏽. I’m actually planning on doing a studio/rig rundown soon where I’ll explain my gear and what I use everything for.
An Ebm7 indeed; just one of the several reharmonizations from Cody Carnes' original arrangement. The key is the different bass lines from the original chords on the chorus: Bbm // Ab // | Gb ///// | Bbm />Ab Db / >Db/F Gb ///// vs Bbm />Ab Db / >Db/F Gb ///// | Bbm />Ab/C Db />Db/F Ebm7 /////. Not withstanding this minor harmony difference his adaptation is very close to what Maverick City's piano part played overall.
I see what you both mean. That’s my mistake I guess I should’ve listened a bit more carefully as I learned it by ear but thanks for watching and for the feedback it’s greatly appreciated ❤️
