Just wait until they have 100 % perfect eye tracking for FPS games, get ready for literal aimbot plays hahaha literally the winners would be those with the fastest reaction times.
I wonder if a P5 PLUS Fighting Board [the kind you need to do soldering for] is compatible with actual analog sticks? If that can be done, and you remake this, you'd be able to fit ALL the electronics on the left side. The PCB is compatible with the PS5 [Fighting Games], PS4, PS3, Switch, and PC . This is only 4 cm squared.
Seen it mentioned in other comments but if you HAVE to use a controller for FPS games, Gyro is the way to go and a lot of controllers these days have it built in. This custom controller definitely looks fun to use though
I had a 360 controller customized a very long time ago by replacing the right analog stick with a trackball mouse. I've seen a few other over the years.
Lavoro fantastico!!! complimenti veramente.
So if mouse aiming is still superior to the custom controller why not create a setup that uses a flightstick style joystick (the type of joystick that has some buttons so you can map sprinting and crouching) alongside a mouse? Then you have the movement freedom of a controller without any kind of aim limitation.
@@mr.thammisses6119 Yes, but my point is the uploader designed the custom controller to have the freedom of movement of a joystick and the aim of a mouse by using a trackball but from his own tests the track ball on the controller performed worse than a mouse. So the solution is replace the keyboard movement with a joystick while keeping a mouse for aiming, rather than trying to re-invent the mouse part to fit a controller.
You inspired me to make something myself. Although i have 0 skills in 3d programs and i don't have a 3d printer. Had to go with wood. It's on my channel, hope to hear your opinion
I think it would be much more convenient to use something like “analog avia joystick” on the right side of the gamepad instead of a trackball it would have high enough sensitivity for shooters. the ABXY buttons could be placed under the thumb and the triggers under the index finger
This would be far better without the ABXY buttons on the top of the controller. Move them under the controller like the belly buttons on a Razer Wolverine or belly paddles like on the Xbox pro controller.
This was definitely an awe inspiring project. Had to watch this one start to finish. I'm a lifelong PC gamer but because of carpal tunnel issues cropping up, I developed a new hybrid control scheme with the help of SteamInput. I hold a DualSense(PS5) controller in my left hand and a Logitech gaming mouse in my right hand. I think the community would really respond well to a simple left-hand-only controller. You need not "reinvent the wheel" of a gaming mouse. If I had a fraction of your knowledge-base or skill, what I would develop would be a left-hand controller that uses familiar inputs like joystick for WASD, Left Trigger and Left bumper for "Shifting" buttons to access additional input layers, and then just standard D-pad, 'share', 'menu' buttons that can be mapped to whatever keyboard input you wish.
Это просто хохма! Заниматься какой-то ерундой, чтобы даже по субъективным тестам не достигнуть обычной мышки с клавиатурой, которые у всех и так есть...
