Hi I'm Steve, people call me Meggala. This is my Amateur radio / Ham Radio channel where you can follow my journey to work all the countries in the ham radio world. There are 340 dxcc entities, I have so far communicated with311 of them I have confirmed 309. The last ones will need my station to be at peak performance.
My call sign is vk3ktt and my US extra call sign is k3ktt I live in Melbourne Australia
On my channel I show you what you can do to get your radio station to perform better. Like most of you I started with a basic station and slowly over 12 years. I have built my station into a mission critical dx station. Why mission critical be cause sometimes to snare the rare dx down here in Australia we only have a small opening where we can be heard and i cant be taking 5 or 10 mins .

probably better but i sold my elad a in 2018 remember the elad is very different the key difference is the network connectivity of the hermes whereas the elad had 3 usb cables..
@@meggalavk3ktt yes I found the 3 cables a pain, did run it through a hub. My memory is it was fine using the computer but if you tried using the VFO and the computer it had the latency you spoke of?
Thanks! That’s all we need, another worthless QRP rig for POTA and SOTA that can’t put out 120 watts. I’m willing to bet Xiegu with have one before any US based Ham radio manufacturers will. I’ll keep saving my pennies for 120 watt POTA/SOTA rig before I spent my lifesavings for another worthless QRP rig! 😢
Hi mate beautiful antennas and great tower. Just a quick question, what spacing measurement would be the best when placing other beams above each other, I see you have a few other antennas above the TET , what is your measurement spacing.
Hermes lite 2 is very good at picking out signals and did i say the filters.....the filters are awesome. Don't forget to thank Mi0Bot for his efforts on the software side.
I was stuck, everything worked except I had no modulation on TX output. As you demonstrated at about 4:00, the "Rear Select" setting was the issue. Once I switched it to "USB" it worked. Thanks!
As someone who has been using an Anan radio with Thetis for several years and who uses both RX1 an RX2 for RX/TX ... using both digital modes and SSB on either RX. That was very complicated/confusing. Maybe its the older version and the specific fork of Thetis thats being used but the main fork definately does not have Diversity or VFO sync enabled on a clean database.
Speaking the world with a multi band DC short skyloops antenna and 100 watts, many times we will hear things a yagi will not, why? I do not need to turn the antenna, noise S/N is better, here we just choose a different feed line ( relays on the antenna ) on the sky loop and ,,,,,,walla ( lobes goes somewhere else in a flick on a switch ) . It is very common to have 10M open at night time with Europe booming in. Since putting the sky loops up , all the big yagis and rotators came down ( and sold ).
A good program to check your usb ports is Usbview , it will show the cp2105 bridge. I suspected mine to be faulty. This program helps sort it out. Tnx for the video 73s de G1zpj
