Welcome to my channel! This is truly a genuine and unscripted DIY channel where everything I do is approached with budget in mind.
I may not approach each project with shiny new tools and professionally appealing technique, but that’s not what this channel is about. It is about trying and sharing that anything is possible by DIY!
I run solo. I love hands on and DIY, but I also love to experiment in kitchen. I have RN BSN degree in health care and a good self care is very important to me as well, so besides my DIY endeavors I may occasionally share some videos from both of these worlds.
I’m not a big talker, so I’m letting my action videos speak for themselves. Feel free to reach out with any question. I will always try to answer to the best of my knowledge.
Please, subscribe if you would like to share my journey and support this channel. I appreciate it.
@@diynation6074 I appreciate your reaching out to me. If you don’t mind I do have a couple of questions before I attempt the same fix. What type of glue did you use? How long is the wood screw that you used and what did you use to fill in the top of the screw after you drilled it in? Thank you
Glad to help. It’s been a while since I attempted this fix, but from what I remember, I just used what I had around my shop. For the glue I believe I used standard construction wood glue and for the screw I used a trim screw. Those usually have smaller head and I it was at least 2”. I believe I caulked the head with an acrylic painting caulk before painting it. I hope this helps you.
Hello and thank you for your question. I believe this particular model offers “PREMIUM FILTRATION PERFORMANCE 0.0.5 MICRON” based on their manufacturer description. They offer different model GX99 that suppose to be UF.
Hello and thank you for your question. The reason why this system doesn’t have a waste line is because it doesn’t utilize a reverse osmosis type of filtration to filter water. Therefore, no waste water is being produced. This simpler and more affordable system uses mechanical filtration where water is run through three stages of specifically designed filtration cartridges. These cartridges are specifically designed by the manufacturer to produce the best quality water possible, so I’m not sure if a generic filters would even work in this system. Considering the full cartridge replacement package from Frizzlife lasts a whole year and includes two stage I filters (replace every 6 months), one stage II and one stage III filters (replace both after 12 months), at around $50 a year I think that’s pretty good deal. I also have a video how I replaced the stage I filter for the first time. I hope my answer helps you a little bit. I’m just a happy user of this system. It works great for me and it is producing a great tasting water while removing chlorine, fluorides and some other contaminants and that’s all I need. I can’t remember it all, but I think I mentioned it in my video’s description. Depending on quality of your tap water and what all you would like the system to remove from your tap water, this system may or may not work for your needs.
The last time I set a hot class baking dish straight out of the oven onto the counter it shattered into a thousand pieces. My granola was ruined... never again, no matter the if's, why's and but's. I'll have to make four of these someday soon. TY
Hello, thank you for your comment. I agree, I should have cut a few pieces and show the inside in the video. I will keep it in mind for my future cooking videos :) I can’t really edit the current video since it’s already published, but I do have a short recording of cutting it. I will try to publish it as a short. Keep an eye on it. Tasting may be hard as the whole strudel is already gone. :). I gave one loaf to my neighbor to try and they really liked it.
Not if you are able to loosen two screws, remove the bracket and swap the motor that cost me $30 on EBay including shipping. A decent dishwasher is nowadays at least $400 plus another $200 to have it installed.
Thank you! I’m just trying to inspire and show others that not everything is sometimes as hard as it looks and people are definitely capable of doing more themselves than they actually think they are. Every time we fix or save something versus buy a replacement, we are doing a huge favor to our environment and I think that is worth it.
That’s awesome! I’m the same way. It doesn’t take a full valet to be rich in creativity, finding solutions, problem solving, which is part of pretty much every DIY project, and that may be worth more than money can buy.
Hello and thank you for your question. Since it’s a chrome, I wouldn’t use anything abrasive. Warm water with little bit of soap and wiping it regularly with microfiber cloth works well.
You are welcome! Hopefully my video can help you a bit. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions, but it is pretty straightforward right out of the box. Good luck!
I like the step-by-step way you show how you did the installation. I feel more confident now about tackling my own sink drain assembly project. Thank you.
That is so great! Thank you so much for your feedback. Even though I’m a DIYer, not a pro, feel free to let me know if you have any question, I would be happy to help. Good luck with your project!
For mistakes or not. It works great and looks even better than many ordinary all around trims that once on cannot be removed if needed to be for example for painting or such. Something to consider.
Great job! I was searching for a video featuring hexagon tiles. I purchased the same ones at Home Depot for $6.99 each. I wish you had made this video four weeks ago. (wow first comment)
Hello, thank you very much for your comment. I really appreciate it. I’m sorry to hear my video came out a little too late for you to look at while doing your hexagons. I hope your project went well. I’m not sure if it’s possible to attach a picture in this comment section, but if it is, feel free to share your accomplishment. I would be happy to see your outcome and applaud you as well. It is great to hear that someone else out there is also enjoying installing this beautiful flooring. Unlike other tiles it is definitely a tedious work, but it is well worth it.
That’s a good question. I see good used routers pretty inexpensive on FB marketplace fairly often. I picked up mine there for $25. Router is a great tool, not just for door hinges.
I dont think this method is the best. The gap between door and frame is too much. By time door slab sits on under frame or floor. To prevent this, the upper hinges must be 2.
Hello and thank you very much for your input. I really appreciate it and you are making a great point that I definitely need to clarify. This method is specifically designed to work, at least in my experience, within the context of building a complete door with the frame. By starting with a bare door slab, installing the hinges, marking the hinge placements onto a bare door jamb, hanging the door, and then wrapping the rest of the door jamb around the door, I consistently achieve perfect gaps all the way around. However, when trying to fit a new door slab into an existing door frame, marking exact locations of all three door hinges onto a new door slab from the existing door frame is absolutely critical to achieve easy installation and accurate gaps all the way around the door. I definitely agree with you on that and I would like to thank you for bringing this up.
@@diynation6074 Well I'm glad you seem to understand what he's trying to say because I had absolutely no idea.. And still don't.. By "gap" is he talking about the reveal between the door and jamb? And how is that related to the method you used to install the hinges?
Hello and thank you for your question. Yes, by gap we talked about the space between the door and the door jamb which ideally should be around 1/8”. To cut out hinge mortises on a new door slab as you see in my video is basically the same whether you are making a door frame or have one with existing mortises in it already. The only difference I would say is where exactly you mark and cut out your mortises. 1. When I build my frame, I mark my mortises for standard door from the top of the door at 7” 36” 65”, cut mortises and install hinges on the door as you see in the video, install top door jamb and the hinge side one, make sure it’s in level and squared, set the door in it as in closed position with 1/8” gap from the top and the side, mark the hinge position on a door jamb and cut it out on the newly installed door jamb. I then hang the door and finish rest of the door frame. 2. For existing door frame with hinge mortises in it I leave hinges in the frame, set the new door slab in the frame as it is in closed position, hopefully the door frame is squared and the gap is as close to 1/8” all the way around as possible, if not I have to play with the door to make it fit first, when it does I set the door into the frame and mark exact position of the hinges on the door, then I cut the mortises on the door and hang the door on the hinges in the existing frame. I hope my explanation makes sense to you. Maybe others do it slightly differently, but hat’s how it always works for me. I built multiple door frames from interior to exterior, single door, double closet door and french door and I never had any issue. Thanks again for your question and good luck with whatever you are up to.
Hello and thank you very much for your comment. Sorry to hear that your countertop doesn’t have an extra opening. This dispenser is fairly thin and all it needs is little over half inch hole through the countertop for installation. With a correct diamond drill bit for stone it is not that difficult to drill through it. I will put it on my list and create a video how to drill through the granite. I’m sure there are others out there that will have a same issue. Have a wonderful day!
Thank you, I appreciate your clarification about the typo. I believe there is over 60 locations in the U.S. Mostly in CA, but they are starting to pop up in the Midwest and East Coast as well. This was during our visit in Kansas City. The food is great. Give it a try if you are anywhere near one.
Hello! Thank you for asking. These particular trains are fairly old and were purchased used. One of them I bought on EBay and the other one in local thrift store. If you like these, I’m sure you will be able to find some on EBay as well. Good luck!
@@diynation6074 I already own two locomotives like the ones shown. However, my locomotives are not Christmas versions. I do a little research into the history behind the models. From the Scientific/Eztec I own the “Silvernite” and the “Pennsylvania” and the Echo Toys locomotive I have them twice in red/silver. I'm interested in when the individual locomotives were built and was therefore wondering whether their sets might currently be available in stores. But if you bought them used, then they are probably older and no longer manufactured. If you find a reference to the year of manufacture on the packaging, please let me know. Greetings from Germany
Hello to Germany. That’s wonderful! Thank you for sharing your experience and your interest in these beautiful toys. I will be more than happy to look up the details of my trains and share them with you. I’m not close by at the moment, but will reply back with the information as soon as I can.
@@diynation6074 That would be great! I would also like to show a video with my locomotives, but unfortunatley I don't have time at the moment and a few repairs on some engines need to be made first.
That would be great. I subscribed to your channel and I’m looking forward to see your locomotives when you get to it. I looked up some details about mine trains, but unfortunately it doesn’t have much information on them. The one with white boiler is probably quite older. It is called Musical Christmas Train and was distributed by JC Penney Home Collection. The other one with red boiler is from Eztec and it says 2015 year on the box.
So did my Richmond heater. Companies ought to be sued by the epa for making the new ones that only last 10 years..... ....you know it takes 3x as much fossil fuel if these new ones last 1/3 as long. The Earth's on 🔥 😂😂😂😂
Hello and thank you very much for your comment. I completely agree with you. The technology has improved so much over the years and yet they are unable or I should say able to, but purposefully not willing to make a product that would last as it use to. They should definitely be held accountable.
Just a suggestion that I saw on another video last week; Buy a different finished drain cover, one that you can actually unscrew and remove so when the pee trap get clogged with hair years down the road, you can access it in order to clear it. I got lucky and bought the removable cover the first time. Just a thought you may consider as well as others viewing.
Hello and thank you very much for your valuable feedback. There is always something new we can learn from each other and I appreciate you’re sharing your experience with us. I will definitely look into it and if I can find one I will definitely point it out when I share my finishing touches of this shower.
Hello and thank you for your question. We have hand painted everything with the fine art brushes. The kit comes with the paint kit that sticks to the plastic fairly well. It is very tedious work though.
That is awesome! I don’t know where you are located, but Hobby Lobby is a great source for variety of reasonably priced model kit supplies, paints, brushes, miniature scenery components etc. Good luck to you and let me know if you have any other questions.
@@daneman63 you are very welcome! They do have a decent selection of some pretty good quality model kits, paints and other related supplies and they fairly often run sales on everything they keep on their shelves. If you keep an eye on it you can find some great bargain there.
For those watching... my understanding is based on the direction of the grains. Those end pieces facing up allow water to wick right into the wood, setting conditions for rot to set it. I could be wrong, and if so, drop the real answer below!
You got it! I could just restate what you have already said, but that’s what it is. Without the cap water starts collecting in the cross cut of the post from the top between wood grains setting perfect condition for the wood rot.
question is why does it not have extra ethernet ports I have the modem but when I connect my ps5 I ran an ethernet cord from the modem to the system how can I do this since I don't have wifi
That’s a very good question. Have you considered getting an office Ethernet splitter or hub? Those are fairly inexpensive on Amazon and would get you extra ports for your need.
Sorry to tell you, but those modems are not that good it’s a gateway modem and only works 11 MB per second. If you buy a different modem, it will work and way more better than this stupid gateway modem.
I hear you. For all those who can afford it buying your own modem is definitely an upgrade, but I have been using their standard equipment for quite a while with zero issues. I think it’s a hit or miss, so for anyone who’s having an issue with their standard modem just ask for a free replacement.
