This is the exact same thing I lived for 92 days back in the summer of 1969. I was the first sourdough mountain lookout for the North Cascades national Park. The park was dedicated in the fall of 1968. I miss those days. God bless America. With the shutters up it must mean the the lookout is manned. The shutters fold down to protect the windows when not in use

You did good climbing a non-traditional route that is much different from the usual route. Shows a different perspective of the mountain and glaciers. Also shows a distant avalanche. Wish you would have done your pan shots much slower though, would show the scenery better. Thanks for sharing.

As great as all these hiking videos that are filmed in Washington are, unfortunately they along with social media are ruining these pristine areas that were once a place for people to find solitude, peace and serenity. Its exposing these places to people who would otherwise not go there. Now they see a RU-vid video or two, and think "that's cool." So they rush out to Walmart and REI, gear up and head out only for others to arrive at a trail head packed with cars and camp sites up the trail crowded with highly inexperienced people with bluetooth speakers crankin out tunes. I know I sound "negative" and selfish but I've been hiking the north cascades trails and the Olympic Coast for 25 years and I've seen a MASSIVE influx, of the people I'm describing, out at these pristine places in the last 6 to 8 years. My wife and have made an annual trip, sometimes two, out to the Olympic Coast for 20 years. We just got back from a 4 day trek out there and we were astonished at how many people were out there. And this was during weekdays. We had to search for campsites where we used to be able to pick and choose. Almost every campsite on all four beaches we hiked to were full and some with multiple tents. The Olympic Coast used to be a place you could go and spend 3 days during weekdays and only see 6 to 8 people the whole time. Now, unfortunately I think its pretty much just turned into a "campground." Have fun out there. Any backcountry hiker looking for some solitude and alone quiet time might as well resort to doing their trips in September and October.

The trail to Colchuck Lake is abysmal. Large rocks, can hardly make out the trail. Not shown in the video.

Thank you for the video. I hope to go to Jeju this Dec. But coming from someone who is a first timer with winter hike, with a kid, I was afraid it might be too overwhelming for us in the cold and going up steep hill. After much reading etc, I think the Eorimok trail is perfect. We just want to experience snow and winter without exhausting ourselves. Thank you for sharing.
