Busted gear that’s supposed to move the mechanism that actually moves the glass which is what actually happened to the one on the vehicle in the video and needed resetting afterwards
I replaced that broken gear because it was just the shaft spinning and not doing anything and then did what you see in the video to get it working back again. You can take yours out and inspect it and see if the motor and gear moves freely as it should but doing that will definitely need resetting like the video. A scan tool should also have the function to perform all of the steps in the video automatically without any fuss pulling or button presses.
@EvolOne-ic5xv no, I didn’t even have a replacement audi part that I could find as a piece sold separately, found one for ford that fit and worked, it’s that little 3/4 inch gear at the end of the shaft. You can also try manually moving and see if that would do anything but at this point doesn’t sound like it would, gotta take the center buttons out to be able to access the manual setting with an allen key
In my case didn’t worked with poping out the fuse . But i meneged to solve my issue by removing power cable from the motor of the sunroof , while it was moving and after that i was able to do the adaption for the sunroof .
THANK YOU! Dealer quoted $1000 to fix my sunroof (2017 VW GLI). Said they had to take the whole roof apart and clean it to fix a problem where it would go halfway then stop and reverse when closing. I tried cleaning the tracks myself, didn't fix it. Did this quick trick (I didn't need to do the fuse btw) and now it is all fixed!
Him: "I am not responsible if you damage your car" Also him: *proceeds to damage his car by losing the fuse. lol All jokes aside, great video bro. You saved me. My sunroof was acting erratically by randomly opening and closing. This did the trick. Thanks! You have yourself a subscriber!
This car is amazing I’m currently it’s owner idk if you’ll see this but I can’t believe the car looked how it did at the very start you did a outstanding job and I love the car it’s in good hands
Did the car started when it was crashed? Or what did you had to change besides radiator (cooling system) to start the car? Just bought a salvage one, similar damage but it doesnt start
