Baffled by NPN transistor. DMM on diode setting: good. Chinese multitester: good. DMM on Ohms setting: getting readings between Collector and Emitter with probes placed in both directions. with other NPN's: no reading between Collector and Emitter with probes placed in bother directions.

Thanks for the video - I tried that on several transistors (mainly 2222As) - some of which were straight out of the box. With the 2000 kOhms setting selected I was still getting an out-of-range both ways and across all and any of my pins. Tried across about a mm of my skin and getting a reading as predicted so I guess the multimeter is OK. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
I have analog tek. 2225 scope and when i attempt to use ×10 mag. To mesure rise time my scope shows a high amount if horizontal jitter and it results to impossible counting of time devisions Could you gess which components suspect to failure I already replace all electrolythic caps. They hav high esr or leakage but issue not solved
Be aware that the leads on an _analog_ multimeter have reverse polarity for such tests. That is, the red lead is negative and the black lead is positive battery. If that 's confusing, simply swap the lead connections on the meter for the purpose of this type of test.

SO EVERY TRANSISTOR I HAVE IS DEFLECTIVE ACCORDING TO THIS..ALL 200 TELL YOU FOR SURE NOT.I HAVE A CEN TECH 95683 DIGITAL CLAMP MM I MUST HAVE IT SET WRONG... NOPE I GOT IT AS LONG AS I SET THE METER AT THE DIODE SETTINGS OF THE OHM AREA..BUT THAT CAN'T BE RIGHT?
Good Stuff, Don't know if it's understood, NPN, The Emitter is Not Pointing, iN. PNP is Emitter Pointing iN. Good you explain to determine which is which, in a bind and no internet, you can compare to known good Transistor. I do a Quick check of Transistors by Testing like 2 Diodes?. Important Stuff
My oscilloscope is very old and the only knobs it have is V INPUT with selection X1 , X10 ,X100 and the second knob have selection for frequency x1, x10KHZ, 100KHZ there is no knob for time selection in milisecond like yours. How can i measuer 20,75MHz IF frequency for FM tube radio with this piece of shit. My oscilloscop is the LBO-310 model.
Do we use the same test for an IC that has 3 terminals and looks the same as this transistor? And do we have to take the IC from the electric board like we do with capacitors?
