Hi there, I (29F) am living in the UK and I plan on marrying a British citizen and then enrolling in a PHD. I understand that every year I will have to pay 10% of my income and that if I were in the US and my spouse and I filed our taxes jointly, then his income would be considered too because the loan would have been taken out after we married, therefore 10% of our combined income would have to be paid back each year. However, given that we are living in London and getting married under British law, would this still be the case? Would we still need to consider his income, or would I just be charged 10% of my own income under the REPAYE federal student loan scheme. This answer is pretty decisive for us. It will determine if we get married or not and if we do get married if we will wait for me to start my PHD in 5 years time when I become a british citizen and will pay lower fees. Thank you!!
If you are considering FFS with Eduardo Rodriguez at NYU in NYC - DO NOT DO IT! He botched my face requiring me to need multiple revisions. My forehead contouring is asymmetrical with one side higher than the other, as stated by my revision surgeon. I need a revision brow lift because one brow is significantly lower than the other. Which I noticed immediately after surgery but like all bad doctors they blamed it on “swelling.” I need a revision rhinoplasty because I developed a polly beak formation and there is a loose bone fragment floating around in the nasofrontal angle/radix that causes me pain, swelling and inflammation. Now I have to see a neurologist for help managing the painful migraines I get which I never experienced prior to having FFS with Mr. Rodriguez. My ears are also positioned at different heights and angles from each other after a botched otoplasty. Needless to say that I’m having all revisions done with another surgeon outside of NYU because Eduardo Rodriguez is an arrogant, egotistical tyrant who will dismiss all of your questions and concerns. His office refuses to show any work he’s done in the past and they do not do computer imaging to show you a possible outcome of your procedures. He will also try to perform as many procedures as your insurance will allow him to bill, making coverage for revisions a nightmare to deal with. My advice is to never allow any surgeon to do more than 2-3 procedures at any given time because they will not give each procedure the time and attention they need. Not to mention the fact that each surgeon has their strengths and weaknesses. Meaning, just because a surgeon is known for performing a face transplant for FUNCTIONALITY doesn’t mean he can pull off an AESTHETICALLY pleasing rhinoplasty. You may need to see multiple surgeons for each procedure they are best at doing for your transition. Please don’t make the same mistake I did. RUN whenever you see or hear Eduardo Rodriguez’s name.
