Thank you mate 👍 I did this video a long time ago and my pan is getting better and better with the none stick, I treat it like a wok. Thanks for the comments.
The Trangia kettle might be better for filling the coffee bags less likely to pour it over your hand when you have sampled a few cans. Cheers Steve from Aus.
Never had Stokes ketchup but their brown sauce is one of the best. Great scran as usual and thanks for the shout out mate. I think just boiling what you need saves on fuel too. ATB and take care of your back.
Just seen this full vid mate. Hope your back is getting better. I'm between back aches at the moment. Sure to put it out again sometime soon. Sign of our age I guess. Do't really like the cut of that stoves gib.
Thanks Rob, yes the back is slowly getting better 🤗 out at the moment doing a quick video, dosed up with painkillers. Like you say, old age is coming to us all 😄
Not sure about the last vid mate.. but nope.. I wouldn’t be using that in my tent mate…. Even more so if I was in a remote area which is usually where accidents tend to happen unfortunately…. It’s a good vid…. Everyone’s experience level varies.. as an example I’ve seen people put holes in tents from a campfire in the outside of a tent….they must of thought was a safe distance 🤷🏻♂️ so I see nothing wrong with giving folks a heads up 👌🏻
I’m not sure why they would of 🤷🏻♂️ if I was looking to purchase something I always head off an look for reviews to read or vids to watch before I decide to buy.. it’s what makes the consumer market a better place… as an example I’ve lost count of the amount of sleeping bags I purchased over the years from manufacturers that give them a 4 season rating… only to find come autumn I was extremely uncomfortable.. and probably would of been in serious trouble if I was caught out in the highlands 🤷🏻♂️… definitely not as much of a problem as fire accident though 🤷🏻♂️… better to have an insight which can give folks a chance to evaluate any possible danger than just a positive one.... 👌🏻
I know how you feel with the back pain, really hope it gets better soon fella. Thanks for taking the time out to put out the video, could actually save someone from serious injury!
Absolutely this was never meant to be portable when f😮ull the butterfly stove is used by millions daily without issue. Danger danger ffs gee i nearly burned myself using a tool wrong. Often used as a canning stove in amish summer kitchens. They also can be baked on with the oven. A guy at a place called st paul mercantile sells them in the usa
Once again, for those people that don’t understand or listen, the stove is good for heating food BUT DID NOT COME WITH INSTRUCTIONS telling you that it leaks fuel if tilted at all. I will use a stove again now that I know its problems.
But why would you be cooking with a paraffin stove IN A TENT?? even a Trangia is for outside or a gas canister it's all outside. The quality is shocking of course but it boiled water
@aabbushcraft I know that! You were in a shed but you kept referencing a tent! The stove is clearly garbage but it did the job. You didn't comment on its control ability can you simmer? What's the capacity of the tank etc... please don't get angry when questions are asked.
@TheLoxxxton nobody was getting angry, I was just replying to your comment, no you can’t simmer and I don’t know the capacity of the tank as there were no instructions with it and also I would not fill the tank to capacity as it leaks so bad. Thank you for your comments 👍
Apparently he needs everything safety to coherently function My autistic daughter uses one without issue . Ide point out his way of lighting it is more than questionable
Anything is dangerous if not used properly. My electric heater shorted and started a fire. My butane stove blew up. My kerosene lantern was knocked over and leaked fuel. Some people should stay in bed and be spoon feed. My god.
These are for home use and have been sold in countries like Kenya for at least 40 years. Not intended for camping. Have to be kept upright at all times
Only fixed outdoors and strictly attended, they are safe enough. Good for quick boiling but need a heat spreader or heavy pan for frying. Many in use around the world where they can't afford anything better and kerosene is available.
This was a very dangerous stove for use in a tent, but I must say it did work really well. think I might try it next time on the beach where it can not do any damage and then up it in the bin 🤣 Thanks for commenting mate 👍
Nice vid bro… cheers for the heads up about the camera… I recently purchased the insta360 one r/s with the 4k mod… I’ve only actually used it twice… I wasn’t overly impressed the footage on it but… it still early days so might get to grips with at some point 😁
@@aabbushcraft No probs... I meant county and asked before I saw the location marker at 10:30 :D That's only a 20 minute drive from where I am! Edit: In fact only a few miles according to the marker! XD
@@aabbushcraft I do, but it's gaming, 3D printing and hobby related... or should I say "was"! I've not added content in years. Though I have to admit, your videos have given me plenty of thought about filming my own camping experiences and I'm half tempted to start adding camping videos to my channel. 👍
Thought that camera worked great with the built in mic. I'm enjoying using my new action camera. Saves a lot of messing about and as you say, the waterproof feature goes a long way.
Yes these action cameras have come a long way in little time, I enjoyed your last video so much, especially as I am bed bound and on a lot of morphine so I can not move, your video came just in time to stop me going insane 🤪 thanks for commenting on the video 👍
Mate you won't be disappointed with the action 4, it's a really good camera. I use mine alot now. That knife aswell is one beast of a tool. I made a nice knife with a ex SAS man. I sanded the handle down on mine as it was abit thick when it come from Sheffield. Don't worry about not fitting in alot of bushcraft it's getting out that counts 👍🏻 🏕🏔 good video 👍🏻
@@aabbushcraft fantastic stuff. I would highly recommend the wireless mic DJI mic 2. I waited for one for ages only just got it. But the sound quality is fantastic on its own. I couldn't recommend the camera enough for our sort of stuff. I got a wolfang like Rob the rover aswell and that is a smashing little camera aswell if you like working 2 cams
@welcome2thewoodsuk I still have my first osmo action camera to use as a second camera, so I’ll wait until that dies 😁 I use DJI mic with the osmo action adapter.
Loved the way your bag fell off the higher branch, landed on a lower one in a perfect position. I properly LOL'd at that. At last someone has said it. The amount of youtubers that look at themselves in the screen and not at the audience down the lens astounds me. It's the performing artist in me. Looking forward to the bushcraft series.
The bag falling was a Friendly Ghost in the woods helping me out 🤣. I have noticed a lot loads of people looking at the lens and not the camera as well, I don’t usually use my phone to record on, I only noticed that I was doing it on playback. When I switched to my phone camera it did pick up a lot of wind noise, I couldn’t remove the sound properly. I am planning the bushcraft series at the moment. Thanks for watching Rob 👍
@@aabbushcraft I always use my phone with a Shure MV 88 mic and dead cat. Works great. In fact I think the first vid of mine you ever commented on was when I was testing that mic on a windy beach with the dead cat. I’ve just got a dead cat and usb C type extension for the new wolfang to use on a bigger tripod. I’ll have to see how it works.
@@robtherover just looked up Shute MV 88 mic, Not a cheap unit Mate, so I have just purchased a lead so I can use my Rode mic and my rode remote mic, I’ll see how it goes 🤗
Hi Andy. I think when they rate tent capacity they measured a very small Asian man. Vacuum packing is the go drop the food in the Esky and forget. As it is wet and humid here I vac my phone and a spare set of clothes when out in the boat. Takes up half the room and stays dry. Cheers Steve from Aus Cheers Steve from Aus.
Hi Jamie, yes the tab falling off was not good. But I did leave it out for two weeks! It was windy and loads of rain, it was bone dry inside so hopefully it will be fine in bad weather, we will see 🤗
Another great video. Once again inspiring me to just get out there and get camping and enjoying the outdoors and the simple things! Food, a nice bev, a cigar.. even better under a tarp with the rain coming down. This is my ASMR! XD
Really sorry, I missed this message 👍 Thank you so much for your comments. It was nice to sit under the tarp in the rain Eating, Drinking and smoking my Cigar, all the things my doctor told me not to do 🤣. Thanks again for watching and commenting
@@aabbushcraft No probs, it's just nice to see someone else enjoying the great outdoors on this small island of ours! Reminds me what I'm looking forward to when I'm working 9-5! Got my next trip planned in Wales in 3 weeks time... maybe you could help me? I get there night one... solo. Night 2-4 I've got company and we've got a mixed grill planned first night and MRE rations for the rest of the trip as a challenge. I'm just not sure what to cook for myself on night one. I get there late ish so it needs to be quick and easy. You seem to do camp food just right imo so your input would be appreciated. (also, I'm not afraid of spice!!! :)
Thank you so much for watching and commenting 👍 I love a cigar on a camp, the only time I smoke 🤗 the Camo jacket is German I think, I wear it around the campfire to stop my Rab jacket getting burnt
Sorry Mate, don’t think it was in the video, I thought I forgot my cigar lighter 🤬 but after lighting with a normal lighter I found my cigar lighter in my pocket 🤪 thank you so much for watching 👍
Hi Mate, the hock was lovely. On the box it says to feed three but only just enuf for two at a push 😏 The hammock was crap mate, I have another two hammocks and they are fantastic for a good nights sleep. I have put this hammock in the bin. Thanks for watching and commenting as normal 👍
I like the hammock fairly snake proof. I've had a 10 foot python in with me before. Have to have them 6 feet off the ground so the crocs can't get you which makes it tricky to get in when you are old. Cheers Steve from Aus.
@@aabbushcraft10 foot Pythons are quiet common in North Queensland biggest I've seen was 14 feet. They are not venomous but I can tell you from experience it hurts when they bite.
Another good video Andy glad the Trangia tip worked for you. My old Trangia lives in the back of the Ute mates say why do I keep it. Get up in the morning everything is wet from Dew there trying to get a fire going while I'm having a brew. Cheers mate.
No Mate, I think your ears are fine. I am having trouble with my Microphone at the moment, trying to sort it out as I text you 😁 hopefully it will soon get sorted 👍 thanks for letting me know and for watching.
I really enjoy your videos pal. Love the way you find any excuse no matter the weather to just get outdoors and enjoy yourself! You've inspired me to do the same more often Also... doesn't food cooked and eaten outdoors just taste better? Especially if it's tipping it down!
Thank you! I really appreciate the comments 👍 and Yes, food cooked outdoors always tastes better 😁 and the rain really helps as long as you are warm and dry.
I don't use the Meths burner much but I put a smear of Vaseline on the rubber which stops it sticking to the brass. Also I make sure it is cold before putting lid on otherwise creates a vacuum. Cheers Steve.
Good video Andy. The Trangia 25 non stick makes a good size pancake. Turn it with spatula then fold in half don't need a plate . Good boat food. Australian saying. "If you are going to knock farmers don't do it with your mouth full". Cheers mate.
