Red Cross doesn't work well with others. I've heard of them in past storms of stopping others from distributing food because they weren't "registered."
We had a problem with that at first. The health department doesn't inspect kitchens in our rural area unless food is being served regularly. All was fine after they understood that and that we know about safe food handling.
Thanks Gayle. It’s nice you’re sharing this. It’s too bad people don’t know about it. I know people were trying to donate and they said they were being stopped.
That's only partially true here. Some of the distribution centers are getting filled. As they feel, they're asking people to hold on bringing supplies until they have more space. At least here, it's not that they're permanently stopping people. For example, I took buckets that were filled with cleaning supplies to a distribution hub yesterday. They took what they could handle. Within hours those were gone and they texted me. We're taking more today. So it's things like that or it will have to do with the specific item not being needed.
@@BeBodacious Oh ok. I know Milton is coming to Tampa Thursday. Stock up just in case. It seems this thing turns and pops up where we don’t know. I live close to a main river with a dam so this is always on my mind.
Right now, we're okay on most supplies. Warm things and dollars are the exception. I have the opportunity to get 100 (or so) pairs of socks and some other warm things if I can get the money together to go get them. It will be faster and more secure that way.
We're making it. We didn't have electricity or water from Friday a week ago until Thursday night. Van life lessons have been helpful. The power still flashes and the water will go out randomly. No complaints though. They're still trying to reach people in parts of the county. That area will be without power for weeks. The primary way of getting supplies there is by Blackhawk or Chinook.
I live 2 counties over from Newport ,I'm on the lake, and I was scared big time I have 2 trees that could take the house out, so I pray every time it comes a bad storm. We were without power for 5 hrs, which meant no water. My ex-husband went 3days witcout power ,water. Trees were down every where, but he was ok,my son took him water, and would take him food. Yes I still love him. My nephew works for the county,he cut and cleaned all week , he said that down trees all over, some damage from that. We were very lucky, praise the Lord.
I'm so glad you're okay!! We lived in Jefferson County years ago and went grocery shopping at the Newport Walmart. It was big news when Bojangles came in. It was really nice of you to get water to him (or anyone). The roads had to be iffy with downed trees. You must have raised a brave son who is also kind and that's beautiful. 🌺
Supply chains are still disrupted but aid is starting to flow. We have power and water back. Parts of the county may not get it back for weeks. I'm not going to complain.
My son was in Tennessee over the weekend but not in a bad hit area and was able to get home. I'm so glad you are safe. I hope you get electric and relief soon.
I have never seen one of these before. I like it! Great review. This is a safer alternative for candles and I like how it has the coasters to add height for smaller candles or take away for taller ones. This will be a great gift for my son who loves candles but can't remember to blow them out at night! Thanks for sharing!
Im praying also may God protect each child adult and animal from harm may the waters recede and may stability and calmness replace all fear may the food and shelter u need appear to you and may jesus embrace you ❤
@livingpositivelytoday At one point, all roads in / out of my town were closed due to trees, downed lines or flooding. They can get to some of our county and parts of NC even have it worse than here. A hospital in the next county submerged and military blackhawk helicopters rescued patients and staff off the roof. I have a video out tomorrow showing some flooding.
Hello, I visited your RU-vid channel. Your videos are amazing, very popular with people. But I found some problems in your channel: Because of which views, subscribers are increasing very little. And the video is not going viral. If you want i will help you
Definitely a low pile rug. If only they could roll them instead of folding. I might weight it down overnight with heavy books on the creases. Certainly waterproof, and once again a practical review even showing your vaccum suction lifting it up. I would probably have to use carpet tape to fasten it down even though nonslip, that vacuum part would otherwise get on my nerves. It would be a good coverup for ugly flooring.
That was interesting, never knew this was a thing sold. Seems to have thought of everything. I see it also comes in white. It seems safer than a flame. I don't think I'd want to use one but think most ladies would like this. You gave it a thorough testing!
