i really hope someone will reply this but is it okay if i follow this tuto without doing the inner lining ? im just scared that i would messed up my fabric
Oh how timely that I found this video! I’ve just begun to cut out my patterned denim for this jacket! I live in San Francisco where one can wear a denim jacket all year round (though there are days in the winter you need a wool hoodie underneath). I was wondering if I wanted to make one lined how would I go about it? The only thing I was sad about was that there were NO INSIDE POCKETS. As a woman (who mostly wears men’s clothing, cause pockets! When I sew I always make sure all my pockets are functional and I add inside pockets. I wish you had a “Tools I use” video so we could click an Amazon link and throw some money your way. This is a GREAT video. Thank you.
I take a smoothie and my coffee mug to my quilt meet-ups and juggle carrying projects and drinks to many spills. I am going to use this tutorial to design a double bag. Wish me luck!
Thank you. I am so glad I found this. The pattern was not clear on the bottom binding for me. I was sooo confused. Now, it all makes sense. In the morning, I will start again. Thank you.
Thank you for this video. Having never sewed a stitch before, my wife decided that making a kimono/yukata style robe from scratch would be the best way to craft her cosplay. We are so lucky that you had a video using the exact pattern that we bought. I can't even tell you how many times we watched this video while trying to figure out the terminology of a pattern. Just like you, we had decided that we weren't going to use a lining for our project, so your tips really helped. We finally completed the robe tonight and it looks pretty good for complete newbies. We can't thank you enough for your help!
I have been working with Kwik Sew 3250 . I was making the one with a collar . I would like you, if I may ask, to explain how to put the collar with the facing on the shirt. Thank you for answering please. If not, I enjoy your videos and hope you woill continue to make them. Sincerely. Robert 😉😉😘😘
Greetings from Texas! Thank you so much for posting this video. I'm making my first jean jacket and have been looking everywhere for a good lining video. Yours is the first to suggest going up a size for the shell. Everything made so much sense and gave me the confidence I need to make my first jean jacket! Update 9/4/23: I finished my first lined blue jean jacket! Thank you so much for such great directions.
Great video! Currently working on this pattern. Perhaps on future videos you would consider using a fabric that is easily distinguishable between the right side of the fabric and the wrong side? That's the only time I was a bit confused. Thanks again.
Wonderful ! Also the leftover 'unusable' scraps, along with some old pillow filler, can be used to stuff fleece dog or cat beds and donate to the shelter who will be happy to get them because it's all washable. I donated a huge roll of leftover Malden Mills fleece to our shelter and they cut it to whatever sizes they needed.
From everything I have watched and learned the people of Japan do not mind westerners wearing their garments. It's the western people that get strangely offended on their behalf. The lining is a little much for me but I love it. It looks great.
Not to mention that Japanese fashion is heavily inspired by western culture. When shrink to fit denim fell out of favor in America, to projectile loom production. Japanese denim companies bought up all of the old school shuttle looms from Levi’s and continued the old school raw denim tradition. Now Japan is known for its heritage denim💁♂️
Gorgeous, excellent craftsmanship! I know a trick to avoid faux fur shedding. Use a brand new razor blade, cut from the back like you did, only pressing the razor deep enough to cut through the backing and you won’t cut any of the hair.
Thank you for sharing this wine tote, I have been looking for a pattern that I could follow & one that wasn't complicated, and explained clearly. This was all of the above. Thank you very much.
cool, thanks. I kind of figured I could do something along those lines but was thinking I would end up doing a turned lining. This looks simple. I am aiming to do a waxed light canvas with wool blanket lining.
