My dad had this exact car when it came out. One of the best memories as a kid with him when he'd hammer it on the highway and the cowl would flip. Beautiful.
I've owned 4 Camaro's 1st one was a black on black 78 came with a 305-4sp Saginaw with hwy geared rear end car was damn near perfect, had a bad lobe or 4 on the cam but I didn't care. 350 4-bolt .030 over flat top Jesels, a set of 461's with the works, well almost $900 bucks for a kid was the works, cam only had a .450 lift and a 600 holley on top of an edelbrock dual plane, if I could have afforded aluminum Darts for my SBC well hey, switched over to a 400 turbo and a 373 posi, car was quick, and I was massively impressed with how well the USED BF Goodrich R/TA's Low profile 50's that I got a good deal on held up, I laid posi snakes everywhere and the the tread on those tires didn't get a bit shallower.
Needs choke hooked up!! Love the old high torque starters those had. Did the 80s still have the L82 or was that the 1st yr of the crappy Feedback Qjet?
on my 79 z28 rs t top it has the spoilers in front and in back of the wheels i never see this on other camero's of these years is it a rare option on these cars
I had a black and gold combination package 1985 IROC Z28 some years ago and would love to own one of this era now. my fav body style is this one and you just dont see a whole lot of them around or on the road. Still have this one (seriously doubt but anything is possible i suppose)?
it's nice! Gonna restore mine soon! The only thing Im picky with is the louvers on the back window. Someone put them on mine before I got it and it actually etched the glass!
