Thanks for the video Malcolm. I bought a set of rans s6 sails from a guy that you made them for. I cant hardly wait to get them on. Thanks for doing what you do.
Really enjoyed your video. I have been flying my 1984 Quicksilver MX for 17 years with original sails still in good condition. Working on my 5th basket case pile of parts rebuild. Helping others get into ultralights. I did first flights in all 5. Just started sewing sails, lots to learn !! I sewed a MX, MXL and CGS Hawk using old sails as patterns. Just started a project for myself, 1984 Quicksilver GT280 (better known as the upgraded version, GT400) from a pile of parts that had been sitting for 10 years.
It’s very interesting to see the main landing gear plates on the older models. On my 2017 Aerolite, those plates are 1/8” with 16 rivets on each side, along with the 1/4-28 bolts. The older model has 3/16” plates & no rivets. I wonder why the design change?
If it does NOT sell consider donating to a builders group in the area. Search social media to see if anything of the sort is available in your area. You might not get what you are asking, but at least you could get a donation amount for all the work & expenses thus far. Plus you might be able to continue to be part of the build if you are so interested 😀 Just an idea 💡 #SkyBaum
All that work , all those upgrades , 53 hours ? That's it ?!? I wish I had been here on August 25th of 2011. I would have bought this in a heartbeat. That is right when I paid cash for a Mercedes C230 Kompressor 4 door sedan. Beautiful Orion Blue Metallic Effect.
the price is reduced on this plane. it flys great and is very unique. the craftsman ship is first class, consider the builder has built 34 aircraft most of them aerobatic .and his boat building skills have been published on the TV series NOVA . the Staudacher aerobatic planes sell for 99K or more . this plane comes ready to fly with a set of straight floats made of composite and carbon fiber..contact me for moor info .
lol ya know i watched this video twice and at the end the second time i realized who i was really watching even though its a old video way to go Jeanne
We had a 150 hp tri pacer in our military aero club back in 1965. It was a neat airplane. There was an aux gas tank under the pilots seat. Very economical to operate. The rudder and ailerons were spring interconnected so if you used either control gently, a coordinated turn could still be made using only the rudder or aileron. Of course if you wanted to make a steep turn back pressure also had to be applied.
