If there isn't a latest version of the plugin, what needs to be done? Do we still need to download the plugin file and upload it into the blocks folder? And what about the existing settings for the plugins? Will those be retained?
Hi, If an outdated plugin causes your upgrade to fail, you can usually delete the plugin code rather than uninstalling it from within Moodle so that the data associated with it is not deleted.
Hi, please follow these steps: step 1 Open config.php file step 2 find the line that starts with "dbcollation... step 3 replace it with the following: dbcollation' => 'utf8mb4_unicode_ci' Step 4 save and refresh That will solve your error.
Hi. Yes, you can basically embed any website in Moodle. Here are the steps: To embed your Google Site in Moodle, you can use the "Page" resource type in Moodle. Here are the steps: Step 1: Prepare your Google Site: Ensure that your Google Site is set to be publicly accessible. You should have a shareable link to your site. Step 2: Get the embed code: Open your Google Site in a browser. Click on the "Share" button in the top right corner. Click on "Embed" in the sharing options. Copy the embed code provided. Step 3: Create a new Page in Moodle: Log in to your Moodle course. Turn editing on by clicking the "Turn editing on" button. In the section where you want to add your Google Site, click on "Add an activity or resource." Select "Page" and click "Add." Enter a name for your page. In the "Content" section of the page settings, switch the editor to HTML mode by clicking on the "Show more buttons" button (it looks like a down arrow). Paste the embed code from Google Site into the HTML editor. Click "Save and return to course" or "Save and display." Step 4: View the embedded Google Site: Once you have saved the page, you should see your Google Site embedded in the Moodle page.
@@elearningportal.education Thank you very much for the detailed information. The problem is that I have not "embebed code" to copy in the shared (nor in any other menu) section of the google sites,,,, I could find to share folders, docs, sheets, slides but not sites to embeb,,, even If I use the URL option in MOODLE with the embeb setting, I receive a refused connection from GoogleSite...only as a url to open in other windows or tab...) Thank you again!! I will be alert to this mater. Sorry for my English.
This involves configuring your network, firewall, and potentially your WAMPP settings. Here's a general outline of the steps you'll need to take: Configure WAMPP: Ensure that WAMPP is configured to allow external connections. You may need to adjust settings in Apache to allow access from outside your local network. Port Forwarding: Configure your router to forward incoming traffic on port 80 (HTTP) or 443 (HTTPS) to the local IP address of the computer running WAMPP. This allows external users to access your Moodle site. Dynamic DNS: If your public IP address is dynamic (i.e., it changes periodically), consider using a dynamic DNS service. This service provides you with a domain name that always points to your current IP address. Firewall: Ensure that your firewall allows incoming connections on the ports used by Moodle (typically 80 for HTTP and 443 for HTTPS). Security: Since you'll be exposing your Moodle site to the internet, ensure that it is secure. Use strong passwords, keep your software up to date, and consider enabling HTTPS. Testing: Once everything is set up, test access to your Moodle site from a device outside your local network to ensure it's working correctly.
Hello, thanks for your video, it helped me a lot. Do you know how to set different payment options? for example, Bank transfer and Paypal. If I enable both methods, it only appears Paypal
Yes, you can provide options, one or the other. Both can be set up through Site Administration - Plugins-Enrolments-manage enrolments. Also, at course level.
Thank you so much for this video.. please can you help me if I need to make branches that according to the answers of trainees for quiz, they are classified in to branches according to the grades
Certainly! In H5P's branching scenario, you can set up branches based on the trainees' answers to quizzes. Here's a general approach: Step 1: Create Questions: First, create quiz questions that align with the criteria you want to use for branching. For example, if you want to classify based on grades, create questions that test different levels of understanding. Step 2: Set Grading Criteria: Define the grading criteria for each question. For example, if a question is worth 5 points, you might classify answers scoring 0-1 as low, 2-3 as medium, and 4-5 as high. Step 3: Create Branches: Based on the grading criteria, create branches for each possible outcome. For example, you might have branches for "Low Grade," "Medium Grade," and "High Grade." Step 4: Set Conditions: In the branching scenario editor, you can set conditions for each branch based on the trainees' quiz scores. For example, if a trainee scores less than 3 on a particular question, they could be directed to the "Low Grade" branch. Step 5: Design Branch Content: Customize the content of each branch to provide feedback or further learning materials based on the trainees' grades. Step 3: Test and Refine: Test your branching scenario to ensure that trainees are directed to the correct branches based on their quiz answers. Refine the scenario as needed. I hope this is what you are looking for. All the best!
This tutorial is great. What methods are there to obtain interaction records of answering questions in an interactive video within a branching scenario? Thanks!
Thank you so much for all your videos. - Is the procedure whether on Mac or PC ? - Here, you add the plug ins in a course. But is it possible to add them for the whole site courses ?
Hi, thank you for watching my videos. When we add plugins to Moodle, it will be available throughout the whole site, meaning, you can add/use it to any course.
Hi! Im receiving this message no matter how I try to set it up "The data directory you submitted exists. Please specify another one." Can you help me with this. Thanks!
Hi, sorry for the late reply. You then need to do the following: 1. Create a database (SQL, You can change it later), please store the Database name, username(usually the same name as the database) and the password in a safe place. 2. Create a Moodle Data folder called "moodledata" 3. Create a subdomain called: "learn" or "school" and your main domain: something like: learn.yourmaindomain.com 4. Download Moodle 4.1.6+ and upload this to the subdomain you created. 5. Unzip the Moodle code. 6. Run the installation of Moodle by typing the subdomain url in your webrowser 7. Leave it on Localhost, just change the Databasename, Database user and password. 8. When setup is complete it will ask you to create an admin user, do so. 9. First thing you need to do after installation is complete, do the Outgoing SMTP, I have a video on this, please do this before installing plugins or adding themes, or anything else. I hope this helps. Again, sorry for the late response. Please shout you need me to do it for you.
@@elearningportal.education thank you for your detailed rensponse whch was not late. Eventually the server i use is not compatible with the version 4.0.
Hi. Thank you. If you already have categories set up, go to Site Administration, scroll down to Site Home, Click Site Home Settings, and make sure you select "List of Categories" in both instances, from "Site Home" and "Site Home items when logged in", depending on your preferences. I hope this helps. If you don't have categories set up yet, set it up and then do the above.
Hi. Please is it possible to have a student's report card for all the courses they take in a particular category? I have designed my moodle site for a school, and I want the students to be able to download one report card that has the grades for all their courses on the site. Please advise if I can use this method, and how. Thank you so much!
i have checked your amazing videos a lot, and they are really helpful , thank you very much for your time and efforts , one question please , the Footer goes to wrong place with Login page , while all other pages working perfectly , not sure if you encounter same with logon page and its footer going to to the middle of screen
Hello! Can you tell me, please, the scenario of the behavior of questions cannot be changed? Always only 3 blocks of 5 questions? Is it possible for 5 random questions from the 1st level to be selected, then 5 random questions from the second, and so on, so that different students always have different questions. And please tell me after completing the test, is it possible to display a message about the assigned student level?
Hi, the more questions you have in your pool of questions on various levels the more random questions become available to students. The student can see the detailed reporting per level/question by clicking on his grade.
You have said very clearly that if I press submit then the whole document will go to the teacher. That is the function that I need. I have learners using this document on their phones and so can only submit this way. But it doesn't work. Where should I be able to find the users work within Moodle? Please help
Hi, that's, correct, please look in your gradebook, click on the activity name in the Gradebook, and then click on the report next to the student's name.
@@elearningportal.education I have now found out how to do everything I wanted the problem was I was using the blue H5P created within the content bank. That doesn't record within Moodle however changing everything to the black H5P enabled recording within the grade book.
